I wanted to share something important after a recent appointment….

A young client (just 13) had been using John Frieda Go Blonder spray without supervision — and it completely got out of control.

This product is heat activated, meaning every time heat is applied (hairdryer, straighteners, even sun exposure), the hair lifts lighter… and lighter… and lighter.
What starts as a subtle change can quickly turn into over-processed, overly warm, yellow tones with compromised condition.

By the time she came to me, the colour had gone far beyond what was intended.

✨ The fix?
I carefully toned the hair to restore a more natural, softer blonde, added shine, and brought back some depth — but this kind of correction takes time, care, and professional knowledge.

My advice?
Please be cautious with over-the-counter lightening products, especially on young hair. What seems like a quick, easy solution can lead to long-term damage and costly corrections.

If you’re unsure, always speak to a professional first 🤍
