Continuing our 2026 year of kindness project at Shuck salons, and we're almost into February, this month Shuck salons is standing with Amnesty International UK to protect justice and freedom for all. 🌍✨
We will be focusing on faith in nature haircare products also within the salon which are cruelty free and environmentally friendly... They say that kindness is a language the deaf can hear and the blind can see, but lately, it feels like that language is being forgotten. 🌍💔
As many of you know, my heart breaks daily seeing the unkindness in our world. Whether it’s the suffering of animals, the struggle for human rights, or the damage to our environment, I’ve decided that I can no longer just watch from the sidelines. 🕊️
Welcome to 2026: Our Year of Kindness at Shuck salons 🤍
Living with a host of health conditions means I can't always be out on the front lines of activism. But I realized I have a voice right here in this salon and through this screen. My mission for 2026 is to be an advocate for those without a voice.
Each month, we will be dedicating our platform to a different cause—from local Durham charities like the RSPCA and Moving On, to global movements for human rights and LGBTQ+ equality. 🏳️‍🌈🐾
How it works:
Spotlight: Every month, I’ll share a story and a mission from a chosen charity.
Scan & Support: I’ve placed QR codes at my stations. While you’re getting pampered, you can scan them to sign a petition, read an article, or donate a few pounds if you’re able.

♦️UPDATE: SHARING A CHANGE IN MY HEALTH AND UPDATE ON THE RUNNING OF THE SALON FOR OUR FUTURE TOGETHER...♦️

✨️To my wonderful clients,
I am writing this to share a very serious update regarding my health and how I must operate the salon moving forward.

✨️Many of you see me on the days I am able to push through and work, but what people dont see are the days that follow. I am currently living with several complex conditions—including EDS, POTS, mitral valve regurgitation, Mitchell's disease (erythromalalgia) cervical spondolosis, bulging discs, reynauds syndrome, fibromyalgia, neuropathy, chronic fatigue, and alopecia and have also been struggling with blood glucose issues that have reached a point i am becoming increasingly bed-bound which will only continue to worsen if I continue to push my body past its limits

✨️To prevent life-altering complications and ensure I can continue to work at all, I must implement the following changes immediately:

✨️Reduced Hours: I am significantly cutting my working hours. This is the only way to manage the severe "crashes" that currently leave me bed-bound for 3–4 days every week.
✨️No Last-Minute Bookings or Walk-ins: I can no longer accommodate "squeeze-ins," extras, or walk-ins. Every ounce of my energy must be pre-planned.
✨️Advance Booking Only: All appointments must be scheduled well in advance. Once my capacity for the day is reached, I cannot add more, regardless of the circumstance.

In the past, I have always tried to accommodate everyone amd have worked tirelessly without breaks at the expense of my own health. I can no longer do that. This isn't about a lack of will—it is a medical necessity to ensure I don't lose my independence.
I love my craft and I value our relationship deeply. By respecting these new boundaries, you are helping me stay in the salon, able to continue doing what I love, and maintaining my ability to work.
