Saturday (6th June) marked the one year anniversary of Cerys Dickson Hair AND 11 years since I began my hairdressing journey in 2015 as a Saturday girl

Most of my clients know I was terrified this time last year. I had left hairdressing just over a year before and I missed it so much but being 1000% honest I absolutely hate working in salons and the pressure bosses put you under so I decided to go self employed 2 days a week to start building my clientele back up. I started off self employed in hair salons and they just weren’t for me and then I found C’est La Belle Beauty Studios. Getting my own little room that I can stay away from the salon rush and offer 1:1 appointments but still have the company of the other girls in the salon and brought two of my best friends with me, I cannot thank you enough C'est La Belle 🤍

May last year I didn’t even have one client, I started advertising in May and from the very start I was fully booked the two days a week but the thought of January, full time self employed as a hairdresser was terrifying.

After beginning the universe for signs I was pushed out of my other job so I had no choice but to go full time in November and the universe really does scream at you! I was fully booked 5 days, 43+ hours a week and now I’m fully booked for colour 2-3 months in advance with a big cancellation/waiting list and I can now relax 🤣

To my clients that found me again and have came back from previous salons I worked at THANK YOU SO MUCH for coming back, you really don’t understand how grateful I am!

To every single person that has sat in my chair and trusted me with their hair, came back time and time again, recommended me to family and friends. I’m so so unbelievably grateful to every single one of you and you will never know how much yous have all changed my life!

I’m the face behind Cerys Dickson Hair, and I work 1:1 in my own private room. That means when you book with me, the space is yours. It’s calm, peaceful and completely personal.

A little about me…
I started my hairdressing journey in 2015 as a Saturday girl. I left school to begin my apprenticeship and qualified in 2019. Since then, my career has taken me from East Kilbride to Edinburgh and back again, shaping my style and building my confidence along the way.

I specialise in medium to long women’s hair, with a real love for blondes, brondes, balayage and lived in colour. Healthy hair will always be my priority, and I focus on creating natural, effortless results that feel like you.

From bold contrast to soft, seamless brightness ✨

My client came in with an all over brunette base and a strong blonde money piece that felt a little too high contrast and high maintenance for her lifestyle. She wanted to be brighter and blonde, but in a way that feels softer and easier to live with.

Because of previous colour build up, this is just the first step in her blonde journey. We focused on blending, softening and starting to lift things in a way that keeps the hair healthy and gives us a beautiful foundation to build on over future appointments.
