Gorgeous Jess works in the beauty industry, her face is her brand & it’s important she looks & feels great.

She had her brows done with another artist around a year ago (pic 2) - due to Jess’s skin type & lifestyle, these had faded considerably, which is amazing news for us!

She requested breathable, airy hair strokes with an aim of lifting the eye area & giving a flattering illusion of a brow lift.

She did not want saturated hair strokes that would risk eventually blending together & looking like a tattoo.

I never really think to share too much on family life publicly, however, this year has probably been the most challenging year for me personally.

There’s been times I’ve not wanted to get out of bed.
Times I’ve snapped at the wrong person unintentionally because I feel my head might actually explode.
Times I’ve questioned the way I run my business as a private clinic, should I just expand it & alleviate some pressure?

I’ve thought irrationally & emotionally, & occasionally questioned myself as a person.

I’ve doubted my ability to pull my f’ing socks up & crack on.

I’ve felt the need to sleep for a month.

Throughout many moods swings, periods of extreme stress, exhaustion & fight or flight, the man who has without doubt or question stood by my side, has been this one.

He is my biggest supporter & cheerleader.

He’s stepped up even more at home without me even asking.

He’s the best zoo keeper to our animals 🤣

& he doesn’t even need to ask what to do, he just does it when he knows I need him to. Never point scoring or arguing.

So, a big load of recognition to you 🙏🏼 my standards are high, I know I’m not the most laid back person, sometimes a bit stubborn, I overthink everything & I know you think I talk to much after 9pm when “the talking shop is shut” 🤣

But, I wholeheartedly could not have continued this year without you by my side.

To the other half of Nixie 🥂 my Luke. Sadly he doesn’t give a s**t about your brows or lips, but he makes sure I’m fed, watered & cared for so I can always make my clients happy ❤️

My PMU Brows journey ✨

From super dark, blocky brows I hated, to fresh, crisp hairstrokes that I love.

The “have you had your brows done?” look 💁🏻‍♀️

Just as I wanted!

12 years ago I had my first set of PMU Brows. I loved them bold & dark, but as I grew older & my style changed, so did what I wanted.

My Brow tattoo / Microblading didn’t fade, & ended up quite ashy, so my only option was to have them laser tattoo removed. I chose Amy at 𝑩𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒌𝒆 𝑩𝒐𝒅𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝑩𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒍𝒆𝒚 because it’s what she specialises in. I felt in safe hands, & after 5 sessions of laser my previous Brow pigment had mostly gone.

Thankfully I could draw my brows on every day from day after my laser session, which made the whole experience a lot easier & less full of anxiety! I followed the shape that I could see fading away so I didn’t need to start from scratch every time.

I researched different PMU Artists for a year before finding a lady I trusted to touch my face & whose personality appealed to me massively online. Genuine, talented, funny but professional. People buy from people after all. I chose PMU ARTIST | DONCASTER & safe to say I made the right decision for the technique & results I wanted. I felt at ease, understood & listened to. THANK YOU.

On to the healing …

• Picture 1 & 2 - super fresh (days 1-3)

• Picture 3 & 4 - dry, starting to peel & the hair strokes disappearing! (approx day 7)

• Picture 5 - still dry, final bits peeling & hair strokes very faded! Super sad, but I know they’re going to come back! (approx day 12)

• Picture 6 & 7 - 4 weeks after my treatment, before & after I laminated & tinted my brow hairs

I still have my top up, which is needed to refine my hair strokes & make a few more prominent, but wow, what a natural but noticeable difference.

Thank you to the gorgeous ladies that helped me love my brows again after disliking them for SO long.

My gorgeous client has been enjoying her Microblading for 18 months before her top up (see second pic for 18 months healed, before top up)

It’s no secret that if Microblading isn’t done well or selected for the right client, it can age BADLY.

I often see Microblading that looks like a tattoo - no hair strokes present, blue or grey in colour & just blocky.

That’s not what my clients want; they want a natural effect that will slowly fade out in preparation for their annual (12-24 month) top up.

We don’t want semi permanent make up pigment staying in the skin, untouched for years & years, like an ACTUAL tattoo.

Microblading isn’t suitable for every client & it’s important that an artist informs you of this.

Good artists want the best results for you, & sometimes unfortunately there are restrictions, so please listen & take their expertise on board.

I know this personally because I’m not a Microblading candidate myself.

❌ I have scar tissue in my brows
❌ My skin is too sensitive

So many other factors contribute to being a Microblading candidate (or not)
