Sculptra is an injectable treatment made with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). It encourages your skin to produce collagen, helping to gradually improve the appearance of facial fullness, firmness and contours. It can be considered for concerns such as hollow-looking cheeks and lines or folds around the lower face.

What makes it different from traditional filler?
Sculptra is for a gradual change. You may look a little fuller immediately after treatment because of temporary swelling, but that settles. The collagen-stimulating results then develop over the following weeks and months. It won’t replace lost facial fat or create an instant transformation.

How many treatments will I need?
That depends on your face and your goals. Many people need a course of treatments over a few months. We’ll discuss the areas to treat, the number of vials and the likely total cost at your consultation, so you can decide whether it’s right for you.

How long can results last?
Results vary from person to person, but improvements can last for around two years or longer after a treatment course. Maintenance may be needed.

What should I expect afterwards?
As with other injectable treatments, you may have swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising. Lumps can also occur, including lumps that appear later. We’ll talk through the risks, your medical history and aftercare before any treatment.
