If you’re still trying to manage your social media on top of everything else - you’re not just overwhelmed… you’re missing out.

✅ Sleeping at night while their content works for them 😴🍯
That’s where I come in.

Because YOU should be running the business…

The audacity is wild.
I’m aware that me posting this isn’t ’professional’ but honestly, I don’t care at this stage and you lot seem to love when there’s a bit of juicy drama..
To the ‘piercer, who likes to talk about me on Facebook and to his victims.. Cute. Meanwhile, your poor victim came to me with a wonky, crooked lip piercing you botched - pierced with the WRONG needle, using an incorrectly sterilised bar that was too short after she specifically asked for a 16mm because she knows her own body. You told her it was 16mm when it was actually 14mm. Bold move, lying and being bad at math.
Oh, and let’s talk about how you handed her jewellery in a pouch and told her to downsize it HERSELF - the pouch wasn’t even sterilised properly. That’s not aftercare, that’s malpractice with a side of laziness.
So while you’re playing piercing prophet and trying to roast me, I’m over here fixing your dirty work (literally). Keep my name in your mouth - clearly it’s cleaner than your setup. 😘

🌈 June has arrived, which means it’s officially time to turn the volume up on the glitter, the sass, and the unapologetic fabulousness. If your outfit doesn’t offend at least three beige cardigans this month, are you even trying?
Remember: this is your sign to strut like the pavement owes you money, compliment strangers like you’re their hype squad, and live your truth like your nan’s not on Facebook.
Go forth and be extra. The world needs more sparkle ✨

📢 DOT BODY PIERCING UPDATE
Although we’re still currently closed, we’re very much still here to help!
✅ Need aftercare advice?
✅ Want us to check a piercing?
✅ Not sure what jewellery is right for your anatomy?
We’re more than happy to assist with check-ups, recommendations, and honest advice until the studio is back open — and it won’t be long now! ⏳
In the meantime, here’s a gentle reminder:
Do your research before getting pierced.
Just because someone works in a tattoo studio doesn’t automatically mean they’re a good or properly trained piercer. Experience, hygiene standards, proper anatomical knowledge, and safe jewellery matter.
Don’t settle for “good enough” when it comes to your body. Choose piercers who are passionate, educated, and certified.
We can’t wait to be back doing what we love — and we’re so grateful for your patience and continued support 💜

💧 Piercing Aftercare: Not All Sprays Are Created Equal!
Let’s talk about something super important but often overlooked — your aftercare spray.
We see a lot of people using aftercare products that come in non-sterile pump bottles. While they might be labelled as “saline” or “cleansing sprays,” the reality is:
If it’s not sterile and sealed, it’s not safe for your healing piercing.
🚫 What’s wrong with pump sprays?
• They pull air (and bacteria) back into the bottle every time you use them
• They can become contaminated over time
• They’re not sterile — and your fresh piercing deserves better
✅ What should you use instead?
Choose a pre-sterilised saline solution in a pressurised or sealed canister. These sprays are:
• Clinically sterile
• Designed specifically for wound care
• Safe for use during every stage of healing
• Free from additives, fragrances, and preservatives
Your healing piercing is an open wound — treat it like one. Using the wrong aftercare can lead to irritation, delayed healing, or infection.
Swipe/scroll down for examples of unsafe vs. safe sprays so you know what to look for when shopping!
At DOT Body Piercing, we stock and recommend medical-grade aftercare products we trust. If you’re unsure about your current spray, bring it in — we’re happy to advise you.

⚠️ Let’s Talk Piercing Placement: Why Anatomy & Education Matter
(NOT A PHOTO OF OUR WORK, THIS PHOTO HAS BEEN OBTAINED VIA FACEBOOK FOR ‘educational purposes’ from piercings by David at Brass Buddha Tranent)
Unfortunately, what you see in this photo is an example of an incorrectly placed navel piercing. While it might look fine to the untrained eye, this is a textbook case of poor placement on unsuitable anatomy.
Navel piercings aren’t a one-size-fits-all procedure. Some people don’t have the anatomy for a standard navel piercing — and that’s okay! That’s where options like floating navels or alternative placements come in. But they need to be done by someone who’s trained to assess anatomy properly.
Here’s what went wrong:
• The placement is too shallow and doesn’t follow the natural curvature of the navel
• The jewellery choice isn’t appropriate for the anatomy
• This has a high risk of rejection or migration, which can lead to permanent scarring
🔍 Education, experience, and honesty matter. A professional piercer should always:
• Assess your anatomy first
• Explain if you’re suitable for a specific piercing
• Offer alternatives (like floating navels or surface anchors)
• Use high-quality jewellery and safe techniques
At DBP, we take pride in doing things right - even if that means saying no when a piercing isn’t viable. Your safety, comfort, and long-term results are more important than a quick sale.
✅ Do your research, especially on who’s piercing you.
✅ Ask questions.
✅ Choose experienced professionals who truly care.
Have questions about navel anatomy or want a consultation? We’re happy to chat, no obligation.

This! 🙏
Can we talk about something real for a minute?
It honestly baffles me how some businesses in this industry treat others like enemies instead of peers. Salons, piercing studios, whatever your niche—why is there so much bitterness? So much jealousy? It feels like some people are waiting, hoping, for others to fail, just to feel better about themselves.
What happened to cheering each other on? Celebrating someone else’s success because you know how hard it is to build something from the ground up?
Maybe it’s just me, but I want to see everyone win. There’s enough room in this world for us all to succeed. Your success doesn’t threaten mine—and mine shouldn’t threaten yours.
If you’re out here trying your best, putting in the hours, staying true to your clients, I see you. I support you. And I hope you absolutely smash it.
This industry could be so much stronger if we spent more time lifting each other up and less time tearing each other down.
Let’s do better. 🖤
The Importance of Staying Educated in the Piercing Industry 💉✨
In this industry, education should never stop. Proper technique, hygiene, and sterilisation standards are constantly evolving—and any reputable piercer should be keeping up with them. At DOT BODY PIERCING, we take that responsibility seriously.
One of the biggest differences between professional piercers and those just “winging it” is proper training. Completing a modern piercing course ensures you’re taught current, evidence-based techniques, not outdated methods passed down through generations that are no longer recommended. This industry evolves for a reason—client safety depends on it.
Over the years, I’ve made mistakes. Human error happens, and I own that. But instead of hiding from it, I’ve learned and grown—and it’s made me a better, more confident piercer. I’ve been fortunate to work in studios across Scotland, England, and Australia, gaining valuable experience and a deep respect for doing things right.
We’re currently closed because we’re upgrading our studio to ensure we continue to meet—and exceed—the latest industry standards. We’ll remain closed until everything is perfect. No rushed re-openings. No “piercings in the window”. Just professionalism, safety, and pride in our work.
🔹 We operate in a purpose-built, designated piercing room
🔹 We have a fully separate sterilisation area
🔹 We use a hands-free hand wash basin for optimal hygiene
🔹 We provide a separate waiting area with a viewing window, so clients feel safe and informed
🔹 And yes—our jewellery is correctly sterilised, separated, and packaged—always has been
Sadly, not all studios follow these basic standards. Some use cheap, low-grade jewellery that isn’t safe for initial piercings—but still claim to be “professional.” Cutting costs at the expense of client safety is never acceptable, no matter how it’s marketed.
⚠️ And a reminder: if your aftercare solution isn’t sterile and in an aerosol can (not a pump spray), it’s not recommended for safe healing.
At DOT BODY PIERCING, we don’t cut corners. We don’t take shortcuts. And we never stop learning. We’re committed to doing things the right way—or not at all.
Stay tuned for our reopening—we can’t wait to welcome you back into a studio that reflects the high standards our clients deserve. 💫
