David making progress through his repair.
Quadriceps testing to check on progress and readiness to run.
Strain Dynamometer providing much needed data on limb symmetry index
Transitioning a patient from walking to running is a critical milestone in ACL recovery. Dynamometer data ensures the "quadriceps brake" is strong enough to handle the impact forces of running (which can be 2 to 3 times a person's body weight).
We also take a look at his weight bearing status as his squat depth increases, and the Delta Force Plates combined with the KMove provide insight into his weight bearing symmetry and force output through his eccentric and concentric phases

ProjectโRun decathlete moving through a targeted lowerโleg assessment session built around the unique, highโload demands of decathlonโevents that require explosive takeโoff, highโvelocity sprinting, multidirectional control, and the ability to tolerate repeated impact across days of competition.
The session includes runโspecific ankle isometric testing on force plates to quantify plantarflexor strength and stiffnessโcritical for sprint acceleration, long jump takeโoff, and pole vault approach mechanics.
Kneeโtoโwall test with checks dorsiflexion mobility, ensuring the recovering ankle can handle the deep shin angles seen in hurdles and javelin blocking.
Dynamic control is profiled through the Y Balance Test again made reliable and repeatable via the , highlighting how well the athlete stabilises in multiple planesโessential for transitioning between events with very different movement demands.
Power asymmetries are captured on the with a singleโleg countermovement jump, giving insight into how the injured limb is producing and absorbing force. The session finishes with a 5/1 RSI test to assess reactive strengthโvital for sprinting, hurdles, and jumps.
Together, these measures create a precise, dataโdriven map of the athleteโs readiness to return to the full decathlon load while guiding targeted rehab and performance progression.

Rehabilitation of a lumbar stress fracture in cricket fast bowler Connor
Work capacity building into lateral hips, bringing sets of trunk work in under fatigue.
At this stage of his rehab rather than focusing on peak power or maximal strength, we emphasizes metabolic efficiency, tissue resilience, and aerobic base development.
By utilizing higher-volume, lower-intensity workloads with shorter rest intervals, we help Connor build a more robust "engine"
This essentially widens his physiological ceiling; a higher work capacity ensures that when the program transitions into high-intensity, sport-specific phases, he can sustain a higher quality of movement for longer periods and recover more rapidly between sets or bouts of play. In his case bowling a number of facts paced overs

Return to running ankle testing for and athlete
Before we clear athletes for high-speed running, they undergo a number of tests on our Delta Force Plates. Here is why:
๐ข The Seated Calf Isometric Test:
The ankle's biggest force producer is the soleusโa muscle that handles up to 8x your body weight during running.
Why we do it: By testing isometrically in a seated position, we isolate the soleus.
The Goal: Weโre looking for Limb Symmetry Index (LSI). If the injured side canโt produce at least 90-95% of the force of your healthy side, your ankle may have difficulty absorbing impact.
๐ข Single Leg 10/5 RSI Test
Running isn't just about strength; โ it's also about how quickly you can transition from landing to taking off, measured in clinic using Reactive Strength Index (RSI)
Why we do it: This test involves 10 repeated hops on a force plate. It measures how "stiff" and bouncy the ankle complex is.
The Goal: We need to see that athletes aren't "leaking" energy. If the ground contact time is too long or jump height is too low compared to the other leg, then there may still be work to do.
As part of project: run we use force plates to move from guesswork to precision.
