Last month I done a really important course and I’m so happy to say I’m fully accredited by in helping the fight against skin cancer. Rates of skin cancer is growing faster than any other cancer.

I’m now fully confident in being able to help recognise the early signs and symptoms of various skin cancers. I can’t diagnose but being able to advise my clients to take action if needed upon spotting anything suspicious.

From my own experience for the past 2 years I’ve had 4 moles removed due to being Dysplastic and 1 re-excision as they found pre cancerous cells. Thankfully all is fine but the toll it takes checking your skin constantly is a big one. I have over 40 moles so for my this is going to be something I’ll deal with my whole life. I used to use sun beds in my early twenties because it made me feel good but fast forward a few years now being a mum, the realisation that I’ve done permanent damage to my skin is difficult. How would I explain that to my son?

Knowledge is key right? So if being able to open up the conversation about our skin whilst doing your nails could be all it takes to encourage you to check your skin and go to the dr with any concerns🤍
