What have I been doing this week?
I have been killing hairs for beautiful people.
Also checking a small lesion for a lovely lady which was about 4mm in diameter, slightly raised and had a ‘rolled’ border. A bit like a tiny doughnut.
Probably a sebaceous hyperplasia as it had no suspicious features but best to get these things checked as they can be bcc’s in disguise. A bcc is a basal cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer that must be referred for treatment. It is the most common type of skin cancer.

Hi again, June here.
My website is back up and working but don’t believe everything you read!
It’s waiting for a much needed update - the prices are wrong and opening hours have changed.
I now aim to be starting at 10 and finishing by 4. Still working Wednesday- Saturday inc.
I need to learn how to code for content now as it’s no longer a Wordpress site.
Wish me luck!😁💪

Temperatures are rising, with sunny spells forecast for most of the UK in the coming days, and a high UV Index. Remember to make use of shade, wear loose-fitting clothes and a hat, hydrate, and apply sunscreen. More info: bit.ly/SunAware

Seen in my local Community Croft; this could apply to plucking a hair - when you yank a strong hair out especially, you are damaging the dermis which is communicating with your hormones and all the chemical messengers in your body.
Not quite the whole world but you get the gist😊
Hi, it’s a-me, June. Some bits of news:
- My website is under reconstruction;
- I am voluntarily no longer on the ‘active’ NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council) register. This is because I am anticipating retiring. I am still keeping up to date via the RCN and various journals and research databases.
- I am looking for someone who is really interested in learning or brushing up electrolysis skills to mentor. If you know anyone who would like a rewarding career change do let me know.
- My prices and price structure have changed (see below)
I think that’s all😊

‼DON’T BE FOOLED INTO THINKING THAT SUNBEDS ARE SAFE:
Sunbed use is bad news at any age and dramatically increases the risk of both melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer. They are classified as a group 1 carcinogen - the highest cancer risk category. AND the younger you are and more often you use them - the risk MASSIVELY INCREASES.
‼DON’T BE FOOLED INTO BELIEVING THAT SUNBEDS ARE SAFER THAN THE SUN:
Sunbeds emit UVA at much higher intensities than the sun to make you tan quickly. UVA penetrates the skin at much deeper levels than UVB. Damage from UVA is cumulative, irreparable, can cause cell damage and skin cancer - including melanoma which is one of the biggest killing cancers in the 15-34 age group.
‼DON’T BE FOOLED INTO THINKING SUNBEDS WILL HELP PREPARE YOUR SKIN FOR THE SUN:
This is a common misconception, but put simply, all it does is add to the damage already done and if you intend to sunbathe, further damage you will do.
‼DON’T BE FOOLED INTO THINKING YOU NEED SUNBEDS TO BOOST YOUR VITAMIN D SUPPLY!
UVB boosts vitamin D, NOT UVA. Any deficiencies, particularly in winter should be boosted with supplements and a healthy balanced diet.
‼DON’T BE FOOLED INTO THINKING A TAN FROM SUNBEDS WILL MAKE YOU LOOK BETTER!
UVA is responsible for 80% of the visible signs of ageing - and as mentioned sunbeds emit much higher intensities of UVA than natural sunlight. The fact is, sunbed use will make you look MUCH older at a MUCH younger age.
‼DON’T FORGET! Sunbeds are BANNED in some countries - they are illegal for use in the UK if you are under the age of 18 and MUCH MORE needs to be done to regulate this industry.
‼DON’T BECOME A STATISTIC.
Many sunbed users have died from melanoma - this is not a coincidence.
‼Please, if you use sunbeds, STOP‼
