Every time this day comes around, I honestly never know what to write. It’s been 16 years since my Mom passed away and putting my feelings into words is still incredibly hard for me.
But looking at this photo today, what I feel most of all is profound admiration and gratitude.
My Mom was the one who taught me what true hard work means. To this day, I still wonder how she did it—managing to work so incredibly hard while raising four children and keeping our whole daily life together.
She taught me to always be kind to people and above all to know how to share.
Our home was always open to everyone. Mom loved hosting people and was an amazing cook—and that is definitely something I inherited 100% from her!
Keeping that warmth alive and feeding the people I love is something I absolutely adore.
Even when times were tough and resources were low, she would always do the impossible and find a way to make sure we were simply happy.
When she left us in 2010, as the oldest daughter, I had to take over the torch in a way. I know I am very much like her in many ways. It’s from her that I got the strength, the hospitality and the determination that I put into growing my business and working with you every single day.
I know that as women, our relationships with our mothers can be very different.
For many of us, this day can be difficult, nostalgic, or painful for various reasons. I don’t want to sound overly dramatic but I am simply thinking of all of you today with lots of warmth—no matter what emotions this day brings up for you.
Thank you, Mom, for everything you nurtured me with for my adult life. 🤍
