I am gobsmacked to see how far and wide the post from yesterday had reached. I can only send my heartfelt THANKS to each and every single person whom shared and commented.
Today is a special day , I have received my first wig donation.Just fantastic.The start of things to come……..

Hi, my name is Mary. I am a hairdresser based in Edinburgh.

I have had cancer twice which means I’ve been in cancer world now for some time. When you are in this place you feel compelled to help anyone who is in the same situation.

I felt the need to do something with my hairdressing skill set, and I noticed a gap I could fill and assist with.

That gap is quality, stylish wigs for anyone who loses their hair.

I am asking anyone who has had the misfortune to have worn a wig at any time, or anyone who enjoys wigs and has any they no longer have a use for to donate them to me.

My aim is to refresh them and offer a free service to people who are going to (unfortunately) lose their hair due to treatment. I also intend to help people deal with the loss of their hair, gifting them a free, refreshed, and restyled (donated) wig, giving support and advice and fitting and shaping the wigs to suit them.

I know there are a lot of good quality wigs in boxes in drawers all over the land that thankfully people now have no use for or don’t use, so if you know anyone who has an unwanted wig or wigs, please ask if they would be so kind as to pass them on to me.

I need your help, so please share share share this message.

The success of this project will rely on getting the word out and encouraging people to very kindly put their wigs in the post.

I also am delighted to announce that I will be working with Maggie’s Centre here in Edinburgh with the Healing Hair project.

Maggie’s Centre are also happy to take any donated wigs and pass them on to me if that’s more convenient for you.
