A Russian manicure is a dry manicure technique that uses an e-file to precisely clean and groom the nails and cuticles, creating a flawless, long-lasting finish. Unlike traditional manicures that use water to soften cuticles, the Russian method involves specialized e-file bits to carefully remove dead skin, define the cuticle area, and shape the nail bed for a polished look. This detailed preparation allows for polish to be applied closely to the cuticle, which makes the manicure appear cleaner for longer and is ideal for gel polish application.
Key features of a Russian manicure
Dry method: The entire process is performed on dry hands, without soaking the nails in water.
E-file precision: A key characteristic is the use of an electric nail file (e-file) with various bits to exfoliate dead skin from the nail plate, clean the cuticle folds, and buff the nail surface.
