Thinking about swapping sugar for honey? Itโ€™s easier than youโ€™d think ๐Ÿฏ

Honey doesnโ€™t just sweeten things, it adds real flavour. A spoonful of Scottish honey can bring a little floral warmth or a deep, malty richness, depending on the jar, and thatโ€™s something sugar just canโ€™t do.

Have a look through for 5 simple ways to use honey instead of sugar at home. Start with one this week and let us know how you get on!

Weโ€™ve put our full guide to cooking and baking with honey in the comments below ๐Ÿ‘‡

The jar we keep reaching for once the clocks go back ๐Ÿ

Turmeric, infused into our soft set Scottish spring honey. Itโ€™s thick enough to hold its shape on the spoon and smooth enough to melt straight into something warm. The turmeric tastes earthy first, then a little peppery. The honeyโ€™s mild sweetness rounds it off.

Stir it into an oat latte, drizzle it over porridge or spread it on hot toast and let it soften.

Part of our Cosy Season bundles this autumn. Find it in Morningside, Rodney Street and Easter Road, or through the link in bio. ๐Ÿ‚

Have you tried our Turmeric Infused Honey yet?

Why is it called forest honey?

Most honey comes from flowers. This one mostly doesn't.

Our Forest Honey is from our family's apiary in the Polish forests, where the bees spend late summer collecting honeydew from fir, pine and oak, with a bit of raspberry and blueberry blossom on the side. It's what makes it so dark, malty and noticeably less sweet.

Lovely in a strong cup of tea. Even better with a sharp cheese.

If you've ever said honey's a bit much, this is the jar to try.

You ask, Andy answers ๐Ÿฏ

How long honey lasts, swapping it for sugar in baking, and the one we hear most: are we making hot honey yet?

Got a question you've always wondered about? Drop it in the comments, or ask us in the shop on Easter Road, Rodney Street or Morningside, and it might end up in the next one.

Sound on. You're welcome.

Every one of these tiny golden grains was carried home by a bee. It tastes a bit floral, a bit sweet, and it's lovely scattered over your breakfast bowl.
