Something new is coming to Dr Hala Aesthetics…

CryoPen is a precise cryosurgical treatment that uses controlled extreme cold to treat selected skin lesions. It works by freezing the targeted tissue, which is then naturally shed as the area heals.
Depending on the type and location of the lesion, CryoPen can be used to treat selected:
• Skin tags
• Seborrhoeic keratoses
• Lentigines
• Warts
• Other suitable benign skin lesions
One of the things I particularly like about this treatment is the precision. The CryoPen uses a pen-point applicator, allowing the treatment to be targeted to the lesion rather than treating a larger surrounding area.
Treatment is generally quick and does not usually require local anaesthetic. The area may become red, swollen or develop a small blister or scab afterwards as part of the healing process, and the final result takes time as the skin repairs itself.
Most importantly, not every skin lesion should be frozen.
Every lesion will be assessed before treatment. If I’m not happy that a lesion is suitable for CryoPen, I will not treat it and may recommend further medical assessment instead. Changes in size, colour, shape, bleeding, crusting or persistent irritation always need appropriate assessment.
I’m really excited to add this to the clinic and offer a treatment that complements my medical and aesthetic approach.

A while ago, I shared this post after my hospital admission and autoimmune diagnosis.
My skin had changed so much during that period. The steroids that were helping me medically were also taking a toll on my skin, and I honestly didn’t recognise it.
Since then, it’s been a lot of trial and error, patience and consistency. I’ve kept my skincare routine simple and focused on repairing and protecting my skin, with CeraVe becoming a big part of that routine.
And this is where I am now.
I’ve also added imedpen Microneedling from Ivan Med along the way to complement my skincare routine and work on some of the texture and post-inflammatory changes that remained.
I wanted to share the results because sometimes we see the finished skin but not the journey behind it.
The first part of this post shows where my skin was, followed by the results and an update on what I’ve added since.
For me, it wasn’t that I wanted a perfect skim, it was about getting back to skin that feels healthy, comfortable and like mine again.
