🤗Wee me! So proud of what I
have achieved in the last 3 years on my own and here was me ready to give it all up back then!
I haven't just survived I ( think) I've thrived! I've fought SO many battles both personal and work related and I honestly couldn't have done most of it without the love and loyalty from my Clients and friends.
I am STILL here 😮 37 years on in the Barbering Industry and 13 years with my shop and I am eternally grateful for all it has shown and given me.

So, Barbering isn't just about standing cutting hair into trendy styles or how many followers you have on socials etc. Far FAR to often now I am hearing about cleanliness and hygiene in shops and thats just the start! Would you eat with dirty cutlery in a restaurant? NO so WHY would you use dirty tools etc on your clients?? 🙄
CLEAN and Sterilise YOUR EQUIPMENT!! It's not hard!
I have Barbicide jars with multiple combs in so
EVERYONE gets a clean comb, I have sprays to sterilise my tools in between EVERY Client, I have UV Steriliser Units with multiple neck brushes and fade brushes etc so EVERY Client gets clean sterilised tools. EVERY Client gets a sterilsed gown!
I clean my tools, work station, chair, sweep the floor, the whole lot BEFORE my next Client sits down!! actually panic if they try to sit before I've cleaned properly.

Next CONSULTATION! You are NOT only discussing the style ect the Client is deciding on but you are also looking for "Contagious Contraindications " amongst non contagious ones!
A "Contagious Contraindication" is something that will prevent you from continuing the service as it's
CONTAGIOUS! ie HEAD LICE, RINGWORM amongst many others!

I had a young lad in last week and my heart went out to him.. he'd not been in a Barber shop for 10 months as he had caught Ringworm from a previous Barber shop!
HYGIENE!! Clean your friggin tools and shop !!
His Father RIGHTLY so asked about my hygiene practices and I was more than happy to explain and show him my routine and equipment for sterilisation of tools etc including my sharps box! My insurance policy is on the wall for the public to see also.

I clean and sterilise between EVERY Client, I clean my shop EVERY night and I deep clean EVERY Saturday taking laundry home too!
Does this make me a "Clean Freak" as I've been called? Probably but my Clients health, safety and trust is my utmost priority!

I am by no means perfect and I make mistakes like anyone else, I'm human BUT LEARN MORE THAN JUST CUTTING HAIR! Being a Barber isn't a "Trendy Fashion" to me! It's my livelihood and my job to look after my Clients! ♥️💈♥️
