💜 World Alzheimer’s Month - The Herbert Protocol 💜

As part of World Alzheimer’s Month, we are raising awareness of the Herbert Protocol, an important tool designed to help keep people living with dementia safe. The protocol is a simple form that records vital information about a person, including their routines, interests, important contacts, and places they may visit. If they go missing, this information can help Police Scotland respond quickly and effectively.

Did you know that there are currently an estimated 982,000 people living with dementia in the UK, and this number is expected to rise to 1.4 million by 2040? More than a third of people living with dementia do not yet have a diagnosis, highlighting the importance of planning and support for those affected.

Completing a Herbert Protocol form takes only a short time but could make a significant difference in an emergency. We encourage families, friends, and carers to take a look at the information provided by Police Scotland and consider completing the form for added peace of mind.

Susan plays a key role in supporting the growth and development of our service. She is responsible for delivering staff training, ensuring our policies and procedures remain up to date, and promoting our business within the community and beyond.
