A long term result of rhinoplasty to refine a bulbous and droopy tip. A carefully executed rhinoplasty can beautifully refine and compliment the face whilst maintaining the ethnicity.

Ethic noses represent a challenge since the anatomy of the tip often means that the tip lacks support and grafts are usually required to support the tip . Also, thick skin can limit the degree of tip refinement .
Increasing the tip projection with grafts helps to place the skin on some degree of tension in order to aid the refinement. It is always important to remember that there are limits and not all patients will achieve the same results.

I am pleased to share this rhinoplasty result. It is very difficult in ethnic noses with thick skin to achieve refinement. Often too much change can detract from ethnicity and the result does not look natural. This patient had very strong and prominent nasal bones which were sculpted using an ultrasonic rhinoplasty approach. The nasal tip was refined using preservation rhinoplasty techniques with no cartilage being removed but simply reshaped and maintaining support.
The result at only 7 months is totally in balance with her facial features and she is delighted .

A revision rhinoplasty case 7 months post surgery. This patient had a challenging situation of a droopy tip with lack of tip support. At the same time she was unable to breathe. Since she had previously undergone a rhinoplasty there was no septal cartilage to use as grafts and so rib cartilage graft was needed. In addition her tip cartilages were completely over-resected and had to be reconstructed using ear cartilage as well.
She came into my clinic beaming with a smile since she loves her nose and can now breathe. It is just so satisfying to see how life changing this surgery can be even in the most complex of cases !
