Is preventative Botox worth it? 🤔
My answer is yes… but not necessarily as young as you think.
I’m not a fan of telling everyone in their 20s that they need Botox before it’s “too late”.
When you’re young, your skin generally has enough elasticity to recover from normal facial movement.
It’s when the skin starts to lose some of that bounce-back ability that repeated muscle movement can begin to leave permanent lines.
For many people, that’s around the mid-30s onwards — but we’re all different.
There are exceptions, particularly people with very strong frown muscles who may develop significant frown lines or muscular tension at a younger age.
And sometimes the best preventative treatment isn’t Botox at all.
It might be good skincare + excellent sunscreen + looking after your skin. ☀️
Sometimes the most appropriate treatment is Botox.
Sometimes it’s skincare.
And sometimes it’s nothing yet.
That’s why I assess the person, not just the age.

Can Botox stop wrinkles?
Yes… but probably not in the way you think.
Botox works by relaxing the muscles that repeatedly fold the skin, helping to slow the formation of permanent wrinkles. It’s brilliant for areas like the forehead, frown lines and crow’s feet.
But not every wrinkle is caused by muscle movement. Many develop because of collagen loss, thinning skin and changes in facial volume—which is why Botox is only one piece of the puzzle.
At No4 Clinic, I don’t believe in frozen faces or overfilled cheeks. My aim is always natural-looking results that help you look refreshed while still looking like yourself.
Sometimes Botox is the right answer.
Sometimes another treatment will give a better result.
