Wednesday - 09.00 - 17.30
Thursday - 09.00 - 17.30
Friday - 09.00 - 17.30
Saturday - 08.30 - 16.30
Sunday - Closed.

We are OPEN as usual, there is scaffolding around the building to carry out some external repairs and repoint the building.
Hopefully be completed by the end of the month.

Melissa is back working in the shop. She worked at K&M Barbers for over 3 years, mostly in our old premises. She will doing appointments during the week and walkins on Saturdays.

We would like to thank Sid Sottung for hosting last nights training seminar with Elgin College Hairdressing and Barbering students and lecturers within our premises and also for the last 5 days training with our staff members.
Who is Sid Sottung?. He started working in a New York Barber’s at age 14, learning the traditional barber skills from the old school barber’s back in the late 80’s, early 90’s. He then moved on to work as a hairdresser for Vidal Sassoon. He worked his way up to become the assistant creative director in the United States. He then moved to London to work within the same company and department. After 14 years he decided to become a Barbering and Hairdressing Educator. He is very well known within the Hairdressing and Barbering world. He has just been awarded the best colourist in the UK and the best shave trainer in the UK. He is also a trainer for some very well known brands in the Hairdressing and Barbering world.
Our Staff have just completed a Men’s Hair and Beard colouring course, a Perming Course and a luxury hot towel shaving course. A few weeks ago, Sid Sottung was in the shop training our staff on new cutting and fade techniques.
These are things our staff had lots of experience in, but they needed to refresh their skills before introducing new services to the shop. They also are in the process of becoming SVQ Assesors, the reason being, we want to employ some apprentices and train and issue them SVQ barbering certificates, so if any budding 16-19 year old want to become a barber, then come and talk to us.
This is the reason the shop has been partially shut this week.
Lots of hard work has been put in the last 3 months and we want to thank our staff members for their VERY hard work. Also thank you to the guys that came in to be models and had their hair coloured, beards shapes done with the razor, full head shaves with the razor and full face shaves with the hot towels and razors. We are aiming to introduce these new services as soon as we can. This takes a bit of setup and planning.

We would like to thank all our customers for your custom over the past 20 years. Kate opened the shop on the 21st May 2001 in our old premises, after moving here from the Isle of Man. Michael, who is from Elgin met her on the island whilst working there and they decided to move to Elgin, his hometown. We didn’t plan to open a shop, it just happened. We never thought that 20 years later we would still be in business. Lots of ups and downs over the years, especially recently. Here’s to the future getting better for everyone and we will still be here for a haircut and chat for years to come.
It has been a pleasure meeting all the generations of families over the years and would like to thank our current long standing staff members and previous staff members for your hard work in making K&M Barbers exist today and also the support we have had from our family.
