Today is a date that means something very different to me.
On 1st September 1939, the Second World War began in Poland. And every year on this day, my thoughts go to one very special woman in my life — my Granny.
She was only 14 years old when she was taken to Germany and forced to work as a prisoner in a labour camp on a farm. She spent six years there.
She became just a number. 2191.
Thankfully, it wasn’t a concentration camp, but that doesn’t make those six years any less unimaginable for a young girl.

When she finally returned home, of her six siblings, only two sisters were still alive. She never saw her parents again.
And yet…
She became one of the most positive, loving and kind people I have ever known.

She would share the last slice of bread she had with you. She always had her heart on her sleeve. She never lost her warmth, her generosity or her ability to love.

She taught me that no matter what life throws at you, you can choose kindness.
She taught me that having very little doesn’t mean you have little to give.

Today, I want to honour her, and all the women who survived the war, carried unimaginable stories with them, and somehow found the strength to build lives, families and futures afterwards.
Granny, you are still one of my greatest inspirations.

When I grow up, I want to be just like you Granny.

It was a dark rainy evening when I drove up to BRORA to do makeup and hair for beautiful bride Sandra the next morning...
Today, is their 7th anniversary!
7 years later… and the bridal look is still perfect✨️🤍
And as i digged out some of their wedding photos (and couldn't resist to find few more stunning ladies on my phone...) i am so happy with what I see...
Trends come and go.
Instagram changes.
New social media platforms grow.
AI influences almost every aspect of our lives..

But the TRUE beauty, timeless makeup, attention to details, high standards will always be in style!!!
That’s why I believe in creating bridal makeup and hair that feels beautiful, elegant and completely YOU — rather than recreating whatever happens to be fashionable that year.

And these photographs are proof. ✨

Some of these brides were married years and years ago, and when I look at their images today, I still see beautiful women looking like themselves — just the most polished, confident version of themselves.

And to all my future brides, especially those who are a little bit nervous, unsure or simply anxious about the whole makeup idea...

As I unpacked from another elopement and few more have been pencilled into my next year diary, my littlw reflection over elopement weddings. They are different-for me as a bridal makeup artist and a hairstylist...
There’s something incredibly special about getting ready with just my bride.
I love the peaceful mornings.
No huge bridal party.
No rushing from one thing to another.
No pressure to keep everyone entertained or on schedule.
Few things never change-
Coffee.
Conversations.
Laughter.
Music.
And lots of time to simply BE present and mindful.

I love creating that little bubble around my bride where, for a few hours, the outside world almost disappears.
We take our time with your makeup.
We take our time with your hair.
We can stop for photographs.
We can adjust things.
We can breathe.

And that's one of the things I love most about elopements.
Hair and makeup aren't just another thing on the wedding checklist.

They're part of the experience.
That's what I truly bring to the table.
This and my care for you.
And when I look back at the elopement mornings I've been lucky enough to be part of, that's what I remember most.

I felt like we've known each other for years (apparently I've been followed for a while...) and a little moment of just doing makeup turned into one of those wonderful conversations about women, life, confidence, friendship and the importance of having the right people around you.
And one word kept coming up…
TRIBE.
A bunch of women who get you, lift you, make you laugh, challenge you, celebrate you and simply allow you to be completely yourself — you realise just how blessed you are.
We hear on social media slogans like:
Women supporting women or
Women celebrating women.
And it sounds fantastic but we need more of that in reality, not only in hashtags.
Being less judgmental, more friendly.
Being caring and reliable.
Being less selfish and more understanding.

What a privilege it is to meet women like that through my work. And what a blessing it is when, along the way, you find a little piece of your tribe. ❤️

It’s always lovely to be part of the groom’s side of the wedding, and this time I had the pleasure of getting this beautiful Mum of the Groom ready for such a special day.

For the makeup, we kept the skin fresh, glowing and beautifully natural — enhancing her features without masking them.
And the hair? Soft, polished curls with enough movement to look gorgeous underneath the hat, while still creating a beautiful hairstyle once the hat came off. And I've heard it needed just a little touch ups after some extensive dancing session...

Youthful. Elegant. Classy.

I think we absolutely achieved the goal. ✨
