This is the bit I think gets missed when we talk about learning bridal hair.
It’s not just about learning another hairstyle.
It’s about getting to the point where you can look at a photo, a head of hair, or a style a bride has shown you and actually work out what needs to happen.
Where the extensions need to go.
How the front needs to be shaped.
How much tension to use when brushing out.
Why something isn’t sitting right.
What you need to do next.
Because I remember what it was like to look at a style and think:
“How have they actually done that?”
And I know how frustrating it is when you can get most of the hairstyle right, but something still isn’t quite working.
That’s the gap I love teaching.
Not just what to do.
But helping you understand why you’re doing it, so you can start making those decisions for yourself.
And that’s when your work really starts to change.

The preview worked perfectly. She loved it.
So why did we change it up for her wedding day?
My bride came to her preview with her inspiration photos. We chatted through how we’d create that lovely, bouncy Hollywood wave for her hair. She trialled it and absolutely loved it.
But we changed it on the wedding day. Here’s why.
She’d been watching all the brides getting married before her on my social media and fell in love with one bride in particular, and the way her waves fell. She asked if we could make some tweaks to get closer to that finished result.
I knew exactly what needed to be done. We switched up the curling technique to get her the result she wanted, and it was exactly what she wanted on the day.
I loved how this one turned out.
This is the kind of thing I find really interesting about bridal hair , it’s not always about a completely different hairstyle. Sometimes it’s about knowing how to adapt what you’re already doing to get a different result.
For the hairstylists watching, I hope you enjoyed this little peek into how I was thinking it through.

First look vs second look ✨
Which one would you choose?
The beauty of a second look is that most of the prep has been done already for your first look meaning we can transition your second look in usually less than 30 mins.
Lots of brides are opting for a second look or an outfit change throughout the day and with that a different hairstyle sometimes suites the style better and over the years I’ve created a service to offer this to my brides so that you can have a style that suits all your looks.

One thing I know for sure now is that there’s a big difference between being a good Bridal Hair stylist……
And becoming the stylist of Bride already knows she wants.
Today, I receive hundreds of enquiries from Brides who can’t wait to work with me. 🥹
But that hasn’t come from trying to appeal to everyone or constantly creating more content.
It came from getting really bloody good at what I do.
Massively upgrading my creative skills
Becoming masterfull at working with different hair types
Developing a style that feels like mine
And learning how to lead my brides through all the little things that make such a huge difference to their experience.
Because I don’t want a Bride to look at my work and think:
“ she’s really good at hair”
I want her to think:
“ I HAVE to have her” 💕🥹🫶
And honestly, that’s what I want more Bridal Hair stylists to experience too.
Not just being able to create a beautiful hairstyle
But becoming the artist whose work creates that I have to have her feeling.
That’s a huge part of why I created The Styling Circle
Because there is only so much you can figure out on your own.
Sometimes you don’t need another tutorial.
you need someone to look at the hair, the situation, the result you’re trying to create and say:
