✨ So much has been happening here at Helrica Massage Clinic... and I wanted to share a little update with you. 💜

I have been absolutely blown away by the response to my new facials, especially the beYOUtiful Facial. Thank you so much to everyone who has booked. I already have ladies enjoying their treatments throughout August, and my September diary has started filling too!

Seeing how excited you are to take an hour to press pause on life and put yourselves back on your own to-do list means the world to me.

My new flyers have arrived, and I can't wait to share them with even more people. We hung up my new sign this morning. Just one more thing to change which I started working on today. 💜

"Hey Google... set an alarm for one hour."

Today I left home at 7:30am this morning and arrived at the clinic just after 8am.

My day was fully booked, and I knew I still had a networking event this evening before eventually driving home at nearly 10 o'clock tonight.

So, in the middle of the day, I had a one-hour gap between clients.

What did I do?

Nothing.

I made the treatment bed up with fresh linen, dimmed the lights, switched on the spa music, turned on the heated blanket, said, "Hey Google, set an alarm for one hour," and I had a nap.

Now, obviously... this was purely for research purposes! 😇

I needed to check whether the music was the right volume, whether the lighting felt relaxing enough, whether the heated blanket was cosy... you know... very important professional research!

In reality, my body was telling me it needed to rest.

So I listened.

And do you know what? That one hour made all the difference.

This evening I went networking, met some wonderful people, handed out lots of flyers, booked a menopause massage, had two ladies interested in facials, made some lovely new connections, and even came away with two recommendations for a podiatrist to finally sort my poorly foot.

If I'd ignored what my body was asking for earlier today, I honestly don't think I'd have had the energy to enjoy the evening or be fully present.

We spend so much of our lives telling ourselves to push through.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do... is stop.

Listen to your body.

Rest isn't being lazy.

Sometimes it's exactly what allows you to keep showing up for everyone else. 💜

Here's a question for you. Be honest... when your body tells you it needs a rest, do you listen or do you keep going?

From preparing the treatment room and carefully choosing the products, to creating a calm, welcoming space where you can truly switch off… every little detail is there with you in mind.

Today I pressed pause. I swapped my treatment room for the seaside, enjoyed fish and chips, ice cream, time with friends and a slow wander through the shops.
We all need moments to stop, breathe and recharge. Today was mine. 💜🌊

No AI, no help from Gertie, just my words and a screenshot. I've typed and untyped words for this post for the last half hour and I still don't know how to tell you all about the most amazing day EVER that I have had today. Finally today Bev and I met. Bev was the first person to book in with me for an appointment at the clinic and this was wayyyy before Helrica Massage Clinic even opened its doors. I can honestly say it was like having a friend just pop in for a coffee oh and while she was there I gave her a massage. I feel like we have known each other all our lives.

Tonight when my hubby got in from work he asked me how my day was and my reply was that it was the "most awesome day ever". Not just a good day, not just a great day but an awesome day. I've had so many awesome days since I opened the clinic. I love helping ladies press pause and make/take time for themselves. It's words like these and all the lovely reviews I have received that is why I am doing what I do at Helrica Massage Clinic.

Now I think I deserve the chocolate that is sitting on the side staring at me and a few hours of crochet before bed. Wouldn't you all agree? 🤞🙏🤣🍫☕x

💜 Today was a day I'll never forget. 💜

Three years ago I lost Erica.

Today there were flowers outside a clinic carrying part of her name, people gathered to celebrate with me, and a business that's helping other women feel cared for.

When I first dreamed of Helrica Massage Clinic, I hoped it would become a place where people could press pause on life for a while... somewhere they would feel heard, supported and cared for.

To see so many wonderful friends come along to my open day meant more than I can put into words. Thank you for every hug, every kind word, every card, every flower and every thoughtful gift. I feel incredibly lucky.

Erica may not have been standing beside me today, but she was in my heart every step of the way. Her kindness, courage and friendship continue to inspire everything I do, and I'm proud that a little part of her lives on through Helrica.

This is only the beginning, and I can't wait to welcome even more people through the door to experience a little time to pause, breathe and feel cared for.
