When I started out I genuinely thought I needed to be doing everything at once. And I mean everything. I was all over the place, putting my energy into things that, looking back, made absolutely no difference to whether I got clients or not.

Meanwhile the stuff that actually mattered — the foundations that would have got my business moving — I either didn’t know about or just kept putting off because it felt a bit dull.

And it is a bit dull. I’m not going to pretend otherwise. But it’s the dull stuff that works. It’s what gets people booking, keeps them coming back, and stops you feeling like you’re just treading water.

It took me 3.5 years to get fully booked. Honestly it didn’t need to take anywhere near that long.

Nobody talks about this enough but a fully booked diary is not always the goal. As long as my bills are covered and I have time left over for myself . That IS the success. It just takes a few years to figure that out.

Right, listen. If you’ve just qualified and you’re already down a rabbit hole of TikTok nail techs all telling you something different — stop. Just stop scrolling.

Because here’s the thing. Your course taught you a method. One method. And instead of practising it and trusting it, you’re out here collecting seventeen different techniques from seventeen different people who all swear theirs is the only way.

No wonder you’re confused.

The techs who get consistent results aren’t the ones who know the most techniques. They’re the ones who picked one, stuck with it, and did it over and over until it was second nature.

You don’t need more information right now. You genuinely don’t. You need less. You need to close the app, go back to what you were taught, and practise it until you could do it in your sleep.

The confusion isn’t because you’re bad at nails. It’s because you’ve got too many voices in your head and not one of them is yours yet.

Pick your method. Trust it. Give it time. That’s it. That’s the whole secret.
