My Top Tips to Prep Your Skin for the Best Makeup

Great makeup always starts with great skin. Here’s how to make sure your skin is prepped and ready for a flawless finish:

Keep brows tidy
Ensure your brows are trimmed and shaped. Untidy brows can make makeup look messy or unbalanced. Well-groomed brows help define the face and allow products around the area to sit beautifully.

Drink plenty of water
Hydration starts from within. Water is one of the best skincare tools you have — it helps brighten the skin and improve elasticity. Dehydrated skin shows more fine lines and can look dull and tired.

Exfoliate (a few days before)
Removing dead skin cells allows foundation to glide on smoothly. Without exfoliating, makeup can cling to dry patches and appear uneven or patchy.

Invest in your skincare

After studying Beauty NVQ Level 3 in Beauty & Makeup, I went on to work on beauty counters with leading brands YSL and Bobbi Brown, gaining invaluable experience within the industry.

Beauty has always been my escape — a place where I feel calm, creative, and completely present. Over the past few years focusing on growing my business has given me that much-needed escape from everyday life. Meeting new clients who often become friends is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

There’s something special about helping people feel confident and relaxed is exactly why I love my job.

Last year marked a huge step into the wedding industry, and being honoured with a Hitched Wedding Awards made every long weekend and extended hour completely worth it 🤍

Whether it’s treatments, product advice, or last-minute questions, I’m always on the other end of the phone to help.

Anyone who knows me knows I can never say no to a client — which often means very long days — but I genuinely wouldn’t have it any other way.
