Sorry for the delay in updating you all but I've been away.

Good news...I spoke to Laura on Wednesday so this quick update has come directly from her!

She is currently still in the QE in Birmingham but is looking to be transferred to a rehabilitation centre in the near future. The physio is working with her on getting her mobility back - and her hand-eye coordination. She's got lots of homework and needs to practice the things we take for granted, such as handwriting and feeding herself.

(Sorry Laura - I feel bad calling you 'she'!)

There’s still a way to go but it's all progress and the baby steps are moving in the right direction.

Laura's sense of humour is still shining through and I got the lowdown on the sexy doctors and it was so good to hear her voice I had to really hold back the tears.

First of all a big thank you to all of you that have donated. Your generosity is really appreciated.

Laura is now on a neurological ward - in her own room, with the trees swooshing outside. When asked if she’d prefer to be in a room or the ward,, she asked for a room with a view. So that’s what she got!

She’s doing well considering the trauma she has been through. There is still a long way to go but the signs are positive. She was initially unable to move her arms and legs, but gradually the mobility returned in her right side. She’s worked very hard - I’m sure you all know how determined she is - and at the weekend managed to move her left arm and leg a little bit.

She was given a manicure and pedicure at the weekend and is being very positive.

I’ve asked Julie or Fayth to read out your messages so keep them coming - it will help raise smiles when things are feeling tough.
