Nine years.

I’ll be honest… this nearly caught me out. I was sat down this evening and suddenly thought, sh*t… it’s the shop’s birthday.

Every year this date means two things to me.

North turns another year older, and it’s also my late dad’s birthday. He was born in 1947, so he’d have been 79 today.

I often wonder what he’d make of it all. The shop, the team, the products, the events, the apprentices… everything North has grown into over the last nine years. I’d like to think he’d be proud.

When we opened in 2017, it was never about building the biggest barbershop. It was about creating somewhere we’d want to spend our time. Somewhere people felt comfortable. Somewhere with good haircuts, good people and a bit of personality.

Nine years later we’ve got an incredible team, thousands of clients who’ve trusted us over the years, and a community that’s supported us through the highs, the lows, and everything in between.

To everyone who’s ever sat in one of our chairs, recommended us to a mate, bought a product, come to an event, or simply followed along… thank you.

Here’s to nine years of North.
