A root canal treatment is a dental procedure used to repair and save a severely damaged or infected tooth.
During the procedure, we remove the damaged pulp (the inner part of the tooth containing nerves and blood vessels), clean the inside of the tooth, disinfect it, and then fill and seal the space.
This helps to prevent further infection and pain, allowing the tooth to remain in place and function properly.
Here you can see the X-rays of a premolar tooth before, during and after we completed a root canal filling.

The positions we get in as a dentist!
As dentists we often have to contort our bodies into various awkward positions to effectively examine and treat patients' teeth.
We may have to lean over the patient, twist our necks, or reach into challenging angles to access different areas of the mouth.
These positions are necessary to ensure proper visibility and access to all teeth and oral structures.
As dental professionals we undergo training and adopt ergonomic techniques to minimize the strain on our bodies and prevent long-term health issues.
But as you see I’m not even leaning over a patient! Lol
