What lovely weather!!
I wonder if the schools will close?
Parents - I have an appeal.
Kids to water is like moths to a light blub. I mean, what greater past time could there be in such weather than heading down to Exmouth Marina and jumping off the wall there.....into the restricted channel with vessels passing through with big spinning propellers waiting to chop you into bits, oily brackish water (some may say worse...), sharks, under water obstruction and debris, unexploded bombs (apparently now removed😉 ), etc.
Its just not safe. Its a pain in the backside for all the port users and causes significant risk to both the child and other water users. If you have seen bad car drivers, leisure craft users do not need a license or any training and a small minority defiantly will not either see you in the water, or avoid you bobbing head with their boat.
We have lifeguarded beaches. Please direct your kids there.
It may just be that your kids don't tell you where they are going so please kindly inform them of this matter proactively. It is a matter of time before a child dies in the Marina. Loads of kids have died elsewhere in the recent month doing similar. Whilst that's not particularly nice, its also not nice for the emergency services that have to recover them or the other members of the public that witness it. It all gets a bit distressing for all concerned.
