, I fancied a change, so ventured overseas to London. I worked in the ‘Big Smoke’ for six years, learning Vidal Sassoon haircutting techniques and how to incorporate them into my styles. I wanted to absorb as much of London as possible so undertook private tuition from a leading stylist in both hair cutting and fashion styling. It was here that I met Kea , a girl from Cornwall who too had fled to London to pursue a career, but the Cornish landscape captured my heart. I longed to return to the fresh air and the smell of the sea and so in 2009 we made another life changing decision and made the move. Kea is now my wife and mother to two wonderful children. I rented chairs in leading Truro and Falmouth Salons and in 2016 made the ultimate decision to set up my own business. My dream was to be based in Falmouth, styling hair with a sea view (out of budget) and the realisation of finding that space was challenging. After a meeting with the very talented designer Hooperberg he planted the seed of a mobile salon; a light and airy, modern space to work from with the option of choosing my view on a daily basis…… and that is how the project began. Shibasaki Awesome Hair hit the streets of Falmouth in June 2017 and there is no looking back. Passionate about my work and proud of my very cool salon, I bring a unique fusion of Japanese precision cuts with a wealth of experience to create awesome hair and all with a sea view. You could say, that “Im living the dream”
