SERVICES OFFERED DURING LOCKDOWN

The FHT have advised that our profession is able to offer some therapy services during lockdown. Bookings can be taken on when there is a clear medical need to do so. A medical need could be described as:

Inability to perform day-to-day activities
Inability to sleep (affecting function)
Inability to work

If you feel that this or similar affect you, then I am happy to treat you at this time. The Covid-19 policy/risk assessment will be updated to cover stricter requirements for entry. Clients will be asked to wear medical grade face masks throughout treatment. This will be provided for you, free of charge.

A client may wish to seek advice from a doctor ahead of booking in to assess whether treatment is appropriate, or clients must contact me ahead of the appointment to assess whether treatment is necessary and cannot be deferred.
Face to face treatment for conditions that will go away on their own by utilising alternative methods will not be treated at this time.

Wishing you all the best during this difficult time.

All,

Just to confuse you...

I am going to be able to offer some services during lockdown after all! The SMA and FHT have taken conflicting stances on what we can offer. On this occasion, I am going with the FHT. They have interpreted government guidance as follows:

'Having consulted with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), if you are a qualified member of the FHT and providing a therapy service to support a client who has a physical or mental health condition or injury, and this is clearly indicated in their consultation form, it is the FHT's understanding that this could be defined as offering a 'health service'.'

Therefore, if you feel that getting treatment from me would help support recovery from injury, or if you feel treatment would benefit your mental health, I am happy to see you throughout lockdown. Feel free to give me a shout if you'd like to discuss further.
