A lovely client said something to me recently that really stuck.

She told me she’d stopped having intimate waxes.

Not because she didn’t want them.

Because she felt judged.

She’d been going somewhere else and, although nobody actually said anything to her, she couldn’t shake the feeling that once she’d left the room everyone would be talking about her.

Whether that was true or not, it didn’t matter.

That’s how she felt.

So she stopped going.

She found me through my posts and said she booked because she thought, “I think I’ll feel comfortable there.”

By the end of her appointment she said she wished she’d come sooner.

We chatted. We laughed. She relaxed.

She told me she felt more comfortable, the wax was better, she understood more about what was happening, and for the first time since having her baby she didn’t feel self-conscious.

That means more to me than any compliment about my technique ever could.

Because no woman should avoid looking after herself because she’s worried she’ll be judged.

If my little corner of the world can change that for even one person, then I’m doing something right.

And to top it all off… she’s already sent a few friends my way.

There’s really no bigger compliment than that.

Some of you have apologised to me before we’ve even said hello.

“Sorry about my body.”

“Sorry I haven’t been for ages.”

“Sorry if I’m talking too much.”

“Sorry, I don’t know what to book.”

And it always makes me think…

Why are we apologising for being human?

I’m genuinely sick of women feeling like they have to make themselves smaller.

Sorry for taking up space.

Sorry for asking questions.

Sorry for not knowing something.

Sorry for wanting an hour to themselves.

Sorry for saying no.

Sorry for their body.

Sorry for being nervous.

Sorry for succeeding.

Honestly? I give 0 sh*ts about any of it.

And neither should you.

You are allowed to take up space.

You’re allowed to ask questions.

You’re allowed to book an appointment because you want to.

You’re allowed to be proud of yourself.

You’re allowed to exist without apologising for it.

Maybe that’s why B | U means so much to me.

Not because I expect you to walk through my door full of confidence…

But because I hope you leave remembering you never needed permission to be yourself in the first place.

In a world where you can be anything…
