Anti wrinkle myths, busted, by a paramedic injector.

There’s so much misinformation out there, so let’s clear a few things up.

“It’ll make me look frozen.” Only if it’s overdone or badly placed. Done properly, you keep your natural movement and just look a little fresher.

“Once you start you can’t stop.” False. It wears off on its own over a few months and your muscles go back to normal. You’re never stuck with it.

“It’s only for lines you already have.” Used early, small amounts can help slow lines forming. It’s about maintaining, not chasing.

“It’s not safe.” It’s one of the most researched treatments in the world, in the right trained hands and after a proper consultation. Who does it matters more than anything.

Prevention really is everything. Starting early and staying consistent will always beat trying to fix it all later. Here’s what I actually have done and why:

Skin boosters and under eye polynucleotides for skin quality and hydration. Microneedling and chemical peels for texture and glow. A little masseter Botox, a brow lift and anti-wrinkle where it’s genuinely needed, prevention, not chasing it. And yes, a bit of lip filler too.

The real secret though? SPF every single day, staying consistent, and looking after your skin from the inside out. None of this works without the basics.

Timing is everything, especially before an event or holiday.

The most common mistake I see is people booking too close to the big day. Here’s the honest timeline:

Filler (lips, chin, profile): leave at least 2 weeks, ideally 4. Swelling and bruising need time to settle, and filler takes a few weeks to sit into its final position.

Skin boosters and polynucleotides: leave 2 to 4 weeks, and ideally start a course well ahead. You may have tiny marks and mild redness for a day or two, and the glow builds gradually over a few sessions.

The golden rule? Never the week of. Plan ahead and you’ll glow on the day, not hide swelling or a bruise.
