🚨Let’s talk about the TPO regulation in the UK because there is a LOT of panic and misinformation going around in the nail industry.

First things first - gel nails are NOT banned.
TPO (a photoinitiator used in some gel products) is being reclassified in cosmetic regulations, which means products containing it can’t continue to be placed on the market going forward.

But here’s the important part many people are missing

✨ The responsibility sits with manufacturers, brands, and distributors to ensure their formulas comply with regulations.

As nail techs, we are the end users of those products, not the manufacturers.
That means:
✔️ Brands will reformulate
✔️ New compliant formulas will replace older ones
✔️ The industry will adapt like it always does

If you already have products containing TPO, you don’t need to panic or throw them away. Many techs will simply use their existing stock until it runs out while brands transition to new formulas.
