Many of you may already know this, but for those who don't, I'd like to let you know that alongside working as a Level 3 qualified hairdresser with over 10 years of experience, I also have several years of barbering experience.

I had the opportunity to work in busy barbershops in Leeds city centre, where I learned many of the techniques and attention to detail that make a great barber cut. I also spent a few months working in London, providing both men's and women's hair services, which helped me further develop my skills.

I think this might be my favourite hair I’ve created lately. 🤎✨ It’s just so beautiful! 😍

✨ A WEDDING IS A SPECIAL DAY — SO YOUR HAIR DESERVES A CAREFUL PLAN! 🤍 ✨

One of my lovely clients is getting married this Saturday, and yesterday she came to me for her colour appointment. 👰‍♀️💍

Before her appointment, we completed the necessary allergy test and consultation, and after carefully assessing the condition and structure of her hair, I decided that a strand test was absolutely essential before going ahead with the colour she originally wanted.

She had hoped for foiled highlights, but during the test, it became very clear that her hair structure was extremely fine. Although she has a lot of hair, the individual strands are delicate, and the foiling lightening process caused significant damage during the test.

At that point, we changed the plan — because healthy hair always comes first! 🤍

She had been wearing a beautiful light copper shade for years and wanted to move towards a medium chocolate brown, with some lighter, warm-toned pieces throughout.

Instead of foils, I created a freehand balayage using an open-air clay lightener technique. This allowed me to carefully control the lightening process and achieve the lighter, warm pieces she wanted while being much gentler on her delicate hair.

I continuously monitored the hair throughout the process, and thankfully, the ends lifted beautifully in a very short time, so the lightener did not need to remain on for long.

To finish and give her hair the best possible care, I also performed a 20-minute Redken ABC Intensive Treatment to help restore and strengthen the hair after the colour service. ✨

The result was beautiful — and, most importantly, her hair remained healthy and in beautiful condition for her wedding day. 🤎✨

My client was absolutely delighted, and I was too! And I could let her leave the salon feeling completely confident and ready for her special day. 👰‍♀️🤍

This is exactly why I always believe in consultation, testing and making considered decisions before a major colour change, especially before such an important occasion as a wedding.

✨ From Black to Beautiful Brunette ✨

Some colour transformations take more than just applying a new shade – they require a carefully planned journey.

My lovely client came to me with naturally very dark, strong black hair (as you can see in the first photo) and wanted to achieve a beautiful brunette look with softer, lighter ribbons throughout the hair.

Because black hair doesn't simply become brown by applying brown colour, we first had to lighten selected sections using a highlighting technique. Once we reached a safe foundation, I created her new brunette shade while leaving some lighter pieces, which were beautifully toned to blend seamlessly with the overall look.

Protecting the health of the hair was our number one priority throughout the entire appointment. That's why we finished the service with a Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate (ABC) Treatment, which helps strengthen weakened bonds, improves softness and shine, and leaves the hair feeling healthier after a lightening service.

It was a long appointment for both of us, but I truly believe the patience, planning, and hard work were absolutely worth it. ❤️

This One Is Worth Reading... ❤️

Dear past, present and future clients,

After a few days away from posting, I'm back to share another special hair journey with you.

This is Sue's story.

Our journey began a few months ago when she first came into the salon feeling heartbroken and looking for help. After having her hair coloured with an oxidant that was far too strong, she then had a permanent wave treatment. Sadly, the combination caused severe chemical damage. Her hair was almost burnt off right up to the roots and was hanging on by a thread. With even a little extra tension, much of it could have snapped.

After a long consultation, we agreed on a plan together. As she didn't want to cut her hair very short, we decided to focus on patience, regular treatments every 1-2 weeks and gradual trims every 6–8 weeks. There were no shortcuts—just consistency, trust and strict home care.

Since February, we have worked together step by step, and today I can proudly say that we have restored the health of most of her hair. She has come through an incredibly difficult period, when she hardly even wanted to take her hood off because she was so upset about the condition of her hair.

Alongside the professional treatments in the salon, we created the right home care routine for her. That partnership has made all the difference.

We have now reached the stage where frequent intensive treatments are no longer necessary. Instead, we simply maintain the health of her hair. Sue's's natural hair is mostly white and silver, so rather than repeatedly colouring it, she visits every few weeks for a toner refresh. This creates the beautiful soft silver-blonde tone you can see in the photos, blending perfectly with her natural hair.

This story is a wonderful reminder that healthy hair is always teamwork. What happens after you leave the salon is just as important as what happens while you're sitting in the chair. The products you use, your daily routine and following your stylist's advice all play a huge role in achieving beautiful, healthy hair.

Unfortunately, some people hope for miracle results without changing their habits at home. Hair doesn't work that way. Professional knowledge, the right treatments and a client's commitment all go hand in hand.

I'm incredibly proud of everything Sue has achieved, and I truly appreciate the trust she has placed in us throughout this journey.

✨ A fresh new look with soft layers ✨

This lovely client came to me after seeing a previous post on my page, where I transformed a client's long hair with beautiful soft layers. She loved the look and wanted the same style for her own hair.

As you can see in the before photo, her hair hadn't been cut for quite a while. It was long, thick, and had completely lost its shape. With a carefully tailored layered haircut, we gave it movement, softness, and a beautiful new style while keeping plenty of length. ✂️🤍

Today I'd like to share this clean, one-length haircut with you.

My client has naturally curly, thick, and quite dry hair. She came to me asking for a dry haircut, wanting to remove her previous layers and create a clean, one-length bob while keeping as much length as possible.

As she regularly straightens her hair, and requested a dry cut, I carefully straightened it first and then created a sharp, clean outline to achieve the best possible result. She was very happy with her new haircut, and her hair immediately looked healthier, smoother, softer, and much more polished.

We also talked about how to protect her hair from heat damage, as she uses straighteners frequently. At her next appointment, we'll continue growing her hair while gradually creating her ideal shape—a fuller bob that's slightly shorter at the back and longer towards the front.
