Room set up for one out of three lovely clients booked in to see me today and a moment for me to pause and take a breath myself.
It's so important when treating others to ensure that I am grounded too so I always take a moment to sit in my space, check in with myself and see where I'm holding tension. And of course, there is clearing the energy in the room and some grounding between clients.
Today consisted of a 2 hour treatment providing holistic massage and reflexology, followed by a one hour relaxing back, neck and scalp massage rounded off with welcoming a new client in for a holistic facial.
I will never get tired of giving women a moment to pause and sink into the couch knowing that they have a space where they can rest.
Do you need a moment?
Message me to see how I can help,

Some days you just need to stop, let go and put your trust in someone else.
It's no secret that I struggle with self care - a very long history of putting others first means that I find this exceptionally hard and (if I'm being totally honest) the guilt I feel when I do put myself first is huge.
What's even harder is finding that person that you trust to let go of everything you're holding.
But when you do, oh the magic. I've had a couple of appointments with an osteopath over the last week having had a bit of a break away (see above notes on not putting myself first!) and honestly they've been tough, but worth it.
Finding a therapist who understands what you need, and has the energy to ground themselves and you through shifts in energy is priceless. Chloe at Dragon Osteopaths is that person to me - she sees my needs and works through them.
I've definitely come away feeling lighter and a little less twisted and out of sync than I was.
So I know how important your time is; how you need someone to see you and understand what you need, even when you don't necessarily know it yourself.
That's why I spend my time getting to know you. It's why I take my time when you walk into my space. It's why I don't rush things and pay attention to every little detail.
If this sounds like you; message me to see how I can help. I know that first step is hard but it will absolutely be worth it!

In the middle of lockdown, I quietly set about trying to change my future.
I signed up to learn reflexology the December before covid, hoping to dive headlong into learning something new. Instead, I juggled working in a high level care environment with zoom calls, theory and assignments.
By the time we got to august, I was worried that I'd hate the actual treatment, but as we sat in our tutors garden and got "hands on" for the first time, I knew it would all be okay.
There's something a little bit magical about reflexology that words can't necessarily explain. A peaceful and restful reset is encouraged and welcomed in the most gentle way.
I always find it hard to explain how reflexology works, but I'm learning that I don't necessarily need to know why something works - I just have to trust that it does.
The benefits are so much more than what I'm allowed to write, but comments from clients and the fact that they choose to come back time and again is proof enough.
If you're interested in how reflexology can help, message me for a chat.

Sometimes a cancellation becomes an opportunity.
As a small business owner, it's taken me a long time to understand that - don't get me wrong, there's always a pause, a sigh and a dose of self doubt when I first see a cancellation message. But more and more, I'm using those times as an opportunity to do something else.
So today, I increased my walk home and went off through some local woodland; it was peaceful to walk in amongst the trees listening to the wind blowing through.
It was calming to pause and take a seat on a fallen tree and reflect on how far I've come.
It was nice to have a moment to think about the week ahead (especially as we're barrelling towards the end of the school year!) and to understand where I'm at.
So next time something doesn't pan out as you thought, perhaps see what that time could become instead.
Perhaps reach out and see if I have availability 😉

I keep on coming back to this image - and every time I do, it makes me pause.
It makes me pause because I see how complex our bodies are, how interconnected everything is and how challenging it is to get to the root cause of how we, as women, can feel.
And to be clear, this is by no means an exhaustive list of symptoms that can be associated with perimenopause!
Being carried along on the journey through perimenopause myself, I seem to be constantly asking "could this be perimenopause?". And my journey is far from over, and really hasn't been smooth sailing up until this point.
What I do console myself with, however, is that knowledge is power. Understanding options available to support throughout this time can empower and make this (at times) stormy period feel a bit more manageable.
What I have learned, is that complementary therapies definitely have a place in easing symptoms, aiding sleep and relaxation and adding to those moments of empowerment.
If you're interested in finding out how holistic therapies can support you during perimenopause and beyond (or just as a way to take off some of the pressure), why not message to see how I can help?

Wise words as we float into July....time to stop trying to fix everything and go where the world takes you.
Perhaps words I need to live by a little more?
The last few months have been a little crazy and the summer promises to be no different. But if there's one thing I am (very slowly) starting to acknowledge more, is that I can't plan for everything. Sometimes I just need to let go more and see where I end up.
Holistic massage is coming, but it's form is still not fully there, and I don't want to rush it. This treatment needs to feel fully aligned with everything I stand for and to meet your needs.
Because everything I do and bring to my workspace is intentional and designed to meet your needs.
So here's to being in the uncertainty.
And if you're interested in how I can help, I've included my availability for July.

One of the nicest immediate comments I receive as women walk into my room, is that of entering a calm and welcoming environment.
And nothing makes me happier (other than gentle snores, energetic releases, laughter, tears and positive feedback).
I work hard to ensure that I foster an environment that makes you take a deep breath and release all of those burdens and thoughts as you walk in.
Part of that process is to remove stagnant energy and cleanse the room from time to time - I don't tend to have a fixed routine, but more work on changing the energy after a reiki treatment or just when things are starting to not feel quite right.
One of the many ways I do this is by burning sage.
Smudging has been practiced for centuries across the globe, for all manner of reasons. But for me, it's as much about the intention as it is about the tradition and what I'm burning.
Walking around my room (or even around the house) the process of lighting and moving around is done with intention and thoughtfulness and I find it hugely meditative.
Once done, I open the windows and release all the energy that has been stored.
And then I'm ready to welcome you into a sanctuary where you are my entire focus. A place when you matter.

A slightly tired but exceptionally proud me having had confirmation that I passed my L3 Diploma in Holistic Massage.
When I started this course, I was warned that this course would take over my life, and it most certainly did! 10 weeks of theory, 5 day trips into London for the practical, 20 pieces of evidence and then 16 full body massages over a two week period, and then the exams themselves (because me being me, I decided I had to retake my anatomy and physiology exam).
Phew!
And so the secret is out!
I am adding holistic massage to my available therapies. A beautiful new way of relaxing and letting go.
I'll release more details over the next few days and weeks but for now, I wanted to say a huge thank you to all of those who supported me and gave me their time to facilitate practice. Also a big thank you to Faith Victoria for coming down and being my exam body; I couldn't have done this without all of you!
