Keep your hair dry where possible. Rain and dampness can contribute to tangling and matting, so dry your extensions thoroughly after getting caught out.

Never sleep with wet or damp extensions. Make sure the hair is completely dry before bed.

Brush regularly. Use an extension-safe brush and gently work from the ends upwards, supporting the hair near the attachment point.

Watch scarves and high collars. Friction around the neck can cause tangling and matting, especially with longer extensions.

Be careful with coats and bags. Straps rubbing against the hair can create unnecessary friction and knots.

Don't neglect conditioning. Cold weather and indoor heating can leave extension lengths feeling dry. Keep conditioner and suitable treatments focused on the mid-lengths and ends, avoiding the bonds/attachments.

Reduce excessive heat. Always use heat protection and avoid repeatedly going over the same sections with straighteners or curling tools.

Keep your scalp and roots clean. Don't stretch washing excessively if your scalp needs cleansing, but follow your individual maintenance advice.

Tie hair loosely at night. A loose plait or low ponytail can help prevent tangling while sleeping.

Don't hide damp hair under hats. Make sure the hair is dry first, and avoid anything excessively tight around the attachments.

Book maintenance on time. Winter isn't the season to let extensions overstay their welcome. Follow the recommended maintenance schedule for your individual method.

This beautiful client came to me with hair thinning, badly fitted previous extensions, and a confidence that had taken a real knock. 💔

After assessing her hair, we created a solution using mesh integration combined with 100g nano weave, carefully placed to give her the coverage, fullness and natural-looking finish she was looking for. 🤍
