Today’s post was prompted by an advertisement for Active skincare on sale!
Sale ‘bargains’ of any kind are often tempting, but when it comes to skin, opting for skincare based solely on a discount, or impulse purchasing - especially with active skincare can mean you buy products that simply don’t suit where your skin is.

I often meet new clients who are using a cocktail of actives on their skin and yet their skin may be sensitive, irritated, dull or dehydrated.

Another common approach to treating skin, can be believing advanced treatments such as microneedling are the starting point, for treating the visible signs of skin ageing.

But what if we think about working with the skin’s physiological and building upon its foundations, the skin barrier.

Long term skin health and true skin longevity is rarely achieved instantly. When we work with the skin by building the barrier first, everything else works better.

Discover more about your skin barrier, its essential functions and why its integrity is essential for a healthy, radiant and beautiful skin.

More than a lifting treatment, Neurotris Dynamic microcurrent supports every layer of the facial tissues, promoting skin health, muscle tone, circulation, lymphatic flow and long-term skin
vitality. Supporting healthy, resilient skin and naturally refreshed facial contours as part of a healthy ageing strategy.
How does microcurrent work ?
Microcurrent delivers extremely low-level electrical signals that mimic the
body’s own natural bioelectrical currents. These currents help support
cellular communication and healthy tissue function throughout the skins layers, underlying fascia and muscles.

Rosacea is often a challenging skin condition to live with because of its seemingly unpredictable symptoms, such as facial redness, irritation, and spots.
From my experience with my rosacea clients, I know that they have found caring for their skin difficult in the past.
Finding the right support can make a big difference in managing your rosacea symptoms and feeling more comfortable, both emotionally and physically, in your skin.
At my skin studio here in Fleet, Hampshire, I can support you either alongside prescribed medication or, in some cases, without it.
In rosacea-prone skin, the skin’s barrier is compromised, which is a trigger of further inflammation, redness and other rosacea symptoms. Dialling down this inflammation by supporting your skin’s barrier health and having a good understanding of what is happening internally and externally is how I can help you feel more in control of your rosacea skin.

How to begin -
The process of improving your rosacea symptoms and skin health begins with a consultation, skin assessment and initial treatment, this can be booked via the link above.

Curious, but not sure about whether I can help? I’m happy to chat beforehand- arrange a free 15 minute discovery call via my website contact page.

Acne is a complex skin condition that rarely has a quick fix. Living with persistent breakouts can be frustrating, exhausting and, for many people, have a real impact on confidence and emotional wellbeing.

If you’ve tried product after product without seeing lasting results, you’re not alone.

I’m Jo Hannan, a skin health specialist & Corneotherapist.
Rather than chasing quick fixes, my skin-health-first approach is about understanding why your skin is behaving the way it is, so together we can create a personalised plan that supports healthier skin for the long term.
If you’d like to learn more about how I support adults with persistent acne and what you can expect from working with me, I’ve explained my approach here:

Give your skin its own personal trainer!

Your skin and facial muscles communicate through natural energy signals. These signals help maintain lift, definition and radiance.
Over time, that energy slows, Neurotris Dynamic Advanced Microcurrent reawakens it, energising skin cells, lifting facial muscles and improving skin tone.

There is no downtime, just beautifully natural results.

Looking after your skin and slowing down the ageing process doesn’t have to be invasive, uncomfortable or traumatic to the skin. 💕

You may think that pigmentation patches just appear overnight… but there is often more going on beneath the surface.

Patches of pigmentation often first surface around the menopause and can be accompanied by a generally duller skin appearance. Factors which can lead to patches of darker pigmentation include:

• Sun exposure and inadequate sun protection
• Hormonal changes
• Poor skin barrier health
• Inflammation within the skin
• Incorrect or unsuitable skincare
• Some types of medication

Treatments such as CryoPen can offer a safe, precise and quick way to treat certain types of pigmentation—seen here in this before and after.

For healthier, more even-toned skin, and to reduce the risk of further pigmentation, prevention and strengthening the skin barrier is essential.

If you’re curious about CryoPen, or how to better care for your skin and reduce visible pigmentation, please get in touch.
