All about BALASANA
🌿 ARCH’s YOGA POSE OF THE MONTH — BALASANA (Child’s Pose) 🌿
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do for our body and mind is simply pause as Kelly has created for mental health awareness week đź’š
Balasana, also known as Child’s Pose, is a gentle restorative yoga posture that encourages the body to soften, the breath to slow and the nervous system to settle. In today’s fast-paced world, taking even a few quiet moments to rest can have a profound impact on our overall wellbeing.
This nurturing pose may help to:
✨ Encourage relaxation and emotional calm
✨ Support deep breathing and mindful awareness
✨ Gently stretch the back, hips and thighs
✨ Help activate the body’s natural “rest and digest” response
✨ Create a sense of comfort, grounding and safety
✨ Offer a mindful pause during stressful or overwhelming moments
Balasana is often used in yoga practices as a resting posture, reminding us that slowing down is not weakness — it’s an important part of caring for ourselves both physically and emotionally.
During Mental Health Awareness Week, this is your reminder to check in with yourself, breathe deeply and make space for rest when needed. đź’š
Small moments of self-care can make a big difference.
Breathe. Rest. Reset.

YoCo Holistics has a closed Colonic system. Find out more here:
Closed vs Open Colonic Hydrotherapy Systems?
At Association of Registered Colon Hydrotherapists, all ARCH therapists are trained to recognised professional standards with client safety, dignity and comfort always at the heart of every treatment.
Most ARCH therapists use what is known as a closed system. During the treatment, warm body-temperature filtered water is gently introduced into the colon to work alongside the body’s natural elimination processes and encourage a gentle bowel release.
The waste is removed through a closed hygienic tubing system, meaning there is no exposure, smell or odour.
Why do many ARCH therapists use a closed system?
Because it allows the therapist to work closely alongside the client throughout the treatment, carefully monitoring:
✨ Water pressure
✨ Water temperature
✨ Fill and release cycles
✨ Client comfort and wellbeing
The therapist remains with the client throughout the session to support safety, reassurance and relaxation.
Gentle abdominal massage may also be incorporated during treatment to help encourage natural movement within the bowel while also supporting relaxation and activation of the body’s parasympathetic nervous system — often referred to as the “rest and digest” state.
So what is an open system?
An open system involves the client lying on a specialised unit and inserting the small tube themselves. The client then controls the flow of water into the colon independently using a control panel. Waste is released directly into the basin beneath the client and is flushed away during the session.
Here at ARCH colonic association we feel the clients safety and wellbeing should always come first.

Understanding IBD
đź’ś Next month May, is IBD Awareness Month đź’ś
Throughout the coming weeks, many of our ARCH therapists will be sharing educational and supportive content to help you better understand Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).
IBD, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, can have a significant impact on a person’s daily life—both physically and emotionally. Yet for many, it can still feel misunderstood.
✨ Our aim is to help change that ✨
We’ll be exploring:
• What IBD actually is
• How it can affect the body and overall wellbeing
• Factors that may influence symptoms
• Gentle, supportive ways to help manage and improve quality of life
Most importantly, we want those living with IBD to feel heard, supported, and not alone.
đź’ś Because understanding leads to compassion
đź’ś And support can make all the difference
