🌴🌏EARLY INSPIRATIONS...
I have always felt that my inspiration for Tropic came from two places. The first was my grandma, a medicinal chemist and toxicologist, who always taught me that, like our bodies, our skin needs feeding with healthy, nourishing and, most importantly, natural ingredients. The second inspiration behind my skincare recipes stems from my upbringing and childhood home town of Cairns in Tropical North Queensland, Australia. From fresh aloe vera plants to exotic fruit trees, the abundance of natural ingredients in the environment I grew up in had a huge effect on the products I would later create.

💚TROPIC BEGINNINGS
After moving to London, I decided to start a little business making and selling my favourite body scrub recipe, to help my mum pay the bills. The blend of jojoba and macadamia oils, exfoliating sea salts and essential oils of lemon myrtle, bergamot and eucalyptus was just like we used to make back in Cairns. The tropical origin of the ingredients I used inspired me to name the brand Tropic.

💛SUCCESS IN A JAM JAR
Aged 15, my first freshly made batch of body scrub was poured into 50 jam jars and sold for the first time at Greenwich Market in London, completely selling out on my very first day! It was over that school summer holiday that I realised I wasn’t alone in my passion for fresh, natural skincare.

💙MY FIRST RANGE OF SKINCARE
Alongside my studies, I devoted nights and weekends to formulating recipes, making products in my mum’s kitchen and selling them at markets across London. My customer base grew rapidly as I added more products to the range.

💜BUILDING OUR FOUNDATIONS
After appearing on BBC’s The Apprentice, Lord Alan Sugar was so impressed by the products that he invested to become a 50/50 partner. Tropic moved from my mum’s kitchen into our first dedicated Beauty Kitchen.

💖OPEN FOR BUSINESS
With a desire to continue selling Tropic with a personal touch, we launched our social selling business platform on May 4th with 400 founding Ambassadors. Our mission was to empower people to build their own green beauty business with us, to take charge of their earnings, and to encourage healthier, cleaner beauty.

I completely fell in love with all the beautiful award winning products after having my first facial and my skin feeling so amazing as if I had been to a spa... which is obviously hardly ever these days with families and children!! 😂
I felt that it was about time I started looking after myself after years of putting my body through stress, toxins and pressures of the lifestyle we all live in today.

I also found being a mother of a soon to be teenager that I was seeing her starting to use more and more products on her face and deodorants and wanted her to look after her skin as like most teenagers they are prone to oily skin, acne, and even sometimes dry, flakey skin. After finding out about the “Think Dirty” app it all made sense why some products out there are not as good as people think they are.

I am so passionate about the products and ethos of the company that I decided to do something that I enjoyed and become a Tropic Ambassador to educate my friends and family. 🍃💐

I offer 1-2-1 sessions where I give a free facial and the opportunity to show you lots of the other lovely products that are available. Alternatively I can visit your home for a group pamper evening for you and your friends. 🌷🌹
