SORRY I’VE BEEN SO QUIET… 😂

Before you all start thinking I’ve packed up Flaunt Beauty and run away to Spain… I promise I’m still here! 😂🇪🇸

Life has just been absolutely LIFE-ING lately.

My eldest has started juniors 📚, my littlest has started reception 🥹, we’ve got staggered school starts that somehow require military-level planning, the new football season is in full swing ⚽️, after-school clubs, homework, uniforms, PE kits that disappear into another dimension…

AND my back is currently resembling that of a 96-year-old woman. 😂

Honestly, I stand up from the sofa and have to wait for my skeleton to catch up.

Then there’s trying to actually run a business amongst all of this?! 😂

Appointments, messages, bookings, stock, cleaning, content, admin… whilst simultaneously being asked where someone’s school shoe is when it is quite literally on their foot. 🙃

Mum life + business owner life = me permanently wondering what the hell I’m doing but somehow making it work. 😂

So yes, my social media has been a little quieter lately. And I’m sorry! ❤️

Please know I haven’t fallen out of love with Flaunt Beauty — I’m just trying to juggle approximately 47 plates whilst someone is shouting “MUMMMMM” from another room. 😂

And amongst all the chaos, I’m reminded constantly just how incredibly lucky I am to have the clients I do.

Especially today when my gorgeous client Debbie turned up with my favourite flowers, just because. 🌸🥹

Like… COME ON. How bloody lovely is that?!

It honestly made my whole day and reminded me that behind all the appointments, treatments, messages and social media posts are real people who I’m so bloody grateful for. 🥹❤️

Every booking, recommendation, lovely message, catch-up, laugh and little gesture means SO much to me.

So thank you for continuing to support my little business while I navigate school runs, football, homework, mum guilt, a dodgy back and the general circus that is life. 😂

I promise I’ll try and be a bit more present on here…

But if I disappear again, just assume I’m either at a football pitch, searching for a missing school jumper, answering a client message with one hand whilst making dinner with the other…

Or lying flat on the floor because my back has finally said “ENOUGH, NICOLA.” 😂😂

✨ A little Flaunt Beauty update… ✨

I’m currently away with my babies, making the absolute most of these last few weeks of our summer together. 💕☀️

It’s a bit of a milestone for us this year as my eldest is getting ready to start juniors 🥹 and my youngest is getting herself ready to start big school! 🎒💗

So, for now, I’m putting my business head to one side and soaking up every last bit of this precious time with them. They really do grow up far too quickly! 🥹❤️

I’ll be back soon and all messages, enquiries and bookings will be responded to when I return. Please don’t worry if you haven’t heard back from me just yet — I promise I’ll get back to you as soon as I’m home and back into Flaunt mode! ✨

Running a small business isn’t always the pretty, polished side you see on Instagram. 🤍

So I wanted to be honest about some of the things I don’t always talk about…

The quiet months.
The cancelled appointments.
The worry about where the next client is coming from.
The comparing.
The questioning whether you’re doing enough.
The pressure of being responsible for everything.
And sometimes… the loneliness that can come with being the one making all the decisions.

There are days where I look at other business owners and wonder, “What am I doing wrong?”
Why are they fully booked? Why does their business look like it’s thriving while mine feels quiet?

But the truth is, we never see the full picture.

And I genuinely believe that small business owners should never be in competition with each other.

There is room for all of us. 🤍

I want to see other women succeed. I want to share their posts, recommend them, celebrate their wins, support them when things are hard and remind them that one person’s success doesn’t take anything away from yours.

So this is my little reminder — to myself and to every other small business owner:

Keep going. Keep showing up. Keep supporting each other.

Because behind every business is a real person, with real worries, real bills, real dreams and a whole lot of heart.

And despite all the difficult days, I will always choose this business.

Because I love what I do.
I love my clients.
And most importantly, I’m building this business because I want the freedom to be present for my children and my husband while creating something that I can be proud of. 🤍

Important Booking Update 🤍

From today, I’m introducing a small but important change to my booking policy.

Any appointment made without a deposit being paid on the day will only be held for 48 hours. If the deposit hasn’t been received within those 48 hours, the appointment will be automatically cancelled and will need to be rebooked.

I completely understand that things happen and plans can change — I will always do my best to be understanding and accommodating where I can. However, as a small independent business, last-minute cancellations, appointment movements and no-shows have a real financial impact on my business.

This week alone, I have lost nearly £100 from cancellations and last-minute appointment changes, and unfortunately, this simply isn’t sustainable for me.

When an appointment is booked, that time is specifically reserved for you, meaning I often turn away other clients who could have filled that slot. Last-minute changes can leave me with no opportunity to fill it.

I hope you can understand that this policy isn’t about being difficult — it’s about protecting my time, my income and my small business. 🤍

Deposit paid = appointment secured.
No deposit within 48 hours = appointment cancelled.
