Sometimes, creating a design means listening to the story behind it.

During this appointment, we found ourselves talking about the animals who leave footprints on our lives long after they’re gone.

It reminded me of losing our family dog years ago. Anyone who’s loved an animal knows they aren’t “just pets.” They’re family.

Every person who sits in my chair brings a different story.

That’s one of the things I love most about this work.

Big dreams often begin with simple ideas. 🌿

Henna Hub was founded with a simple belief:

that people deserve to make informed choices about what goes onto their skin.

Through natural henna and jagua, we’re showing that plant-based body art can be a space for creativity, wellbeing, cultural appreciation and thoughtful self-expression.

Whether someone is exploring a tattoo idea, celebrating a milestone or simply enjoying the experience, every design begins with understanding, not compromise.

We’ll keep building that vision…

One person.
One conversation.
One design at a time.

Earlier this year, Henna Hub UK facilitated a creative wellbeing experience as part of a staff wellbeing event at Glasgow Kelvin College.

Throughout the day, staff members took time out of their busy schedules to sit down, learn about natural henna and jagua, and enjoy a creative experience designed to encourage relaxation, conversation and self-expression.

What stood out most was not the designs themselves, but the opportunity to create moments of connection.

A simple activity became a space for people to pause, engage with something new, share stories and take a moment for themselves.

This is one of the reasons I believe culturally rooted art has an important place in wellbeing, education and community settings. It can help bring people together, spark conversations and create experiences that people genuinely remember.

Thank you to for creating space for staff wellbeing and for inviting Henna Hub UK to contribute to the day.

Most people think henna is a design.

It isn’t.

Henna is actually a plant.

The beautiful patterns we see on skin are an art form that can be created using different materials including natural henna, jagua, body paints, and more.

It might seem like a small difference, but understanding it helps people make more informed choices about what goes onto their skin.

At Henna Hub UK, one of our core values is education, because when people understand the difference between a material and an art form, they are better equipped to choose what is right for them.
