Things every beginner should know IMO and not be scared off!

It just makes me so happy to make people so comfortable in learning a new skill ✨️

Sometimes it's not just great lashes that keep people coming back. From my experience within the last 10 years I feel I've had feedback on things from clients that adds to their appointment and makes them continue to come again and again!

First thing is definitely creating a comfortable space, heated bed, blanket, comfy pillow makes all the difference to someone who is lying there for at least an hour.

Secondly, keeping in tune with the comfortable theme, I feel a private room is so much better for lashes and treatments that clients lie there with their eyes closed, I feel this just creates a better environment for someone to totally chill out too!

Third thing I would say is to be a good listener, I feel its so over rated and maybe somewhat controversial but to be a listener to someone coming in that day who just needs a rant means more to someone than you'll know. Giving therapist vibes is honestly a privilege that people feel truly comfortable with you.

YEO Training Academy is what has come from me wanting to share knowledge of lashes and lashlifts. This business name came from Your Eyes Only by Robyn which I used to go by when I was mobile and first self employed.

I opened my salon with the name The Beauty Tailors knowing I wanted to open up with more treatments and more therapists offering different treatments done the line 🤍

Yes, eyelash extensions can potentially damage your natural lashes if they are not applied and removed properly. Here are some ways eyelash extensions can cause lash damage:

Excessive weight and tension - The weight of the eyelash extensions, especially if they are very long or thick, can put undue tension and pull on your natural lashes. This can cause your real lashes to thin out or break prematurely.

Improper application - If the extensions are applied too close to the lash line or if the glue/adhesive gets on the natural lashes, it can lead to lash breakage or lashes getting stuck together and ripping out.

Allergic reactions - Some people may have allergic reactions to the glues, adhesives, or ingredients used in eyelash extensions. If this is the case, then eyelash extensions would not be suitable for this client.

Poor lash isolation - If the natural lashes are not properly isolated during application, the eyelash extensions can become stuck together, resulting in the natural growth cycle being disturbed if you have ever had eyelashes applied incorrectly then you may have experienced this at some point.

To minimise damage, it's important to go to a certified, experienced lash technician, get refills on time, and avoid pulling/rubbing the lash extensions.

Here are some tips for correctly applying eyelash extensions:

●Thoroughly clean the natural lashes first to remove any oils or makeup. This helps the extensions adhere better.

●Carefully isolate each natural lash using tweezers. This prevents the extension from sticking to multiple lashes.

●Dip the extension in a small amount of lash glue, then gently place it on the natural lash, as close to (but not touching) the lash line as possible.

●Work one eye at a time, allowing the glue to dry before moving to the other eye. This prevents the lashes from sticking together.

●Use an appropriate length and thickness of extension for the client's eye shape and desired look. Typically, start with shorter lengths on the inner corners.

●Avoid using too much glue, as this can cause clumping. A thin, even layer works best.

●Gently comb through the lashes to separate them and check for any stuck together.

●Have your client keep their eyes closed until the glue is fully dry.

The key is to go slowly at first, perfecting your isolation and placement techniques. Speed and confidence will come with repetition and experience. With consistent practice, you'll be creating beautiful, flawless sets of lash extensions in no time!
