A little bit of reality amongst all the highlight reels…

I love my business and I’m incredibly grateful for what I’ve built, but running a business can be HARD.

There have been plenty of times I’ve felt overwhelmed, burnt out or wondered whether life would be easier if I just went to work for someone else and got to leave work AT WORK. 😂

And don’t even get me started on having to constantly keep up with social media… 🙄

I think sometimes we look around and assume everyone else is managing everything perfectly.

They’re probably not.

We’re all just trying to keep all the plates spinning while remembering what happened in the film we supposedly watched last night. 😂

So if you’ve been feeling overwhelmed lately, business owner or not, you’re definitely not the only one.

There’s something very close to my heart that I want to share with you. 🤍

This October, for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I’m going to be giving something back.

For years, I’ve worked in cosmetic tattooing, helping women restore brows and eyeliner when they’ve lost definition during cancer treatment.

I’ve seen just how much those seemingly little things can mean.
When someone is going through such a huge and difficult journey, having that little bit of “me” back can make a bigger difference than you might think.

Since moving into medical tattooing, I’ve discovered another part of my career that I absolutely love. Helping to restore the appearance of something that has been changed through surgery and allowing someone to look in the mirror and feel a little more like themselves again.

Cancer has touched so many families in some way. While I can’t change what someone has been through, being able to lift them up at the other end of that journey feels incredibly special.

Honestly, this is where I feel I’m meant to be in my career. It’s the part of my work that gives me the greatest sense of purpose and the reason I feel so passionate about developing the medical side of what I do.

To me, it can feel like the final piece of a very long journey - a chance to close that chapter a little and begin moving forward.

So, this October, I’ll be offering a complimentary medical tattooing treatment as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

I’m sharing this now because I want to give the message plenty of time to reach the person who may need it.

You don’t have to be that person yourself. You may know a mum, sister, daughter, friend or someone else who has been through breast cancer treatment.
