Had an absolutely gorgeous time visiting Romania ❤️ we explored busy Bucharest and escaped to the Carpathian Mountains for some gorgeous castle adventures, including Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle) and I even found some lavender gelato! I highly recommend visiting for off the beaten path beauty ❤️

I live for slow, peaceful weekends when I can curl up on the couch with a good book 💜 this one was especially difficult to get my hands on (and pricy!) but so worth it! If you know, you know 💜

My blemish-prone skin has been a daily challenge since I was 11 years old and I continue to battle hormonal adult acne now (it's where my passion for skincare stems from) 💜

Every day is a learning lesson, solid education like this book are priceless investments to learn as much as possible about our skin and how to help women (and myself) overcome the daily struggle 💜

Ps. Acne is a medical condition called acne vulgaris. I am not a medical professional. If a facialist calls themselves an acne expert, red flag. Without medical school, we should be calling ourselves blemish specialists, as we are not licensed to treat acne vulgaris. 💜

Stop explaining your boundaries to people committed to misunderstanding them.

And stop doubting yourself every time you outgrow a version of your life that no longer fits other people's expectations of you.

Ever noticed the little open jar symbol with “12M” on your skincare, makeup, toothpaste, perfume, and other cosmetics around your house?

This is called the PAO symbol — “Period After Opening.” It tells you how long a cosmetic product remains stable, effective, and microbiologically safe after it has been opened. The “M” stands for months, so “12M” means the product should ideally be used within 12 months of opening 💜

Once opened, exposure to air, light, heat, moisture, and contact with fingers or brushes can gradually break down active ingredients and preservatives.

Over time, this may alter the product’s texture, color, fragrance, and performance while increasing the risk of bacterial or fungal contamination.

General PAO guidelines by product type:
💄 Mascara & liquid eyeliners: 3–6 months
🧴 Liquid foundations, concealers & creams: 6–12 months
✨ Powders, blushes & eyeshadows: 12–24 months
💋 Lipsticks & lip glosses: 12–18 months

Always store skincare, makeup, and perfumes in a cool, dry place (humid Scottish bathrooms are really not ideal; I store mine in a closet near the bathroom) and pay attention to any changes in smell, texture, or appearance — your skin barrier will thank you 💜
