👇 Let’s get you moving again
This week has been all about learning at .
I spent time developing my knowledge of the lower leg and ankle, alongside adding myofascial cupping to my skill set. Every course reminds me why I love what I do.
I never want to know just enough to get by. I want to keep asking why, keep learning how and keep becoming a better therapist. Because every new skill, every question and every hour of training helps me provide better care for the people who trust me with their recovery.
I’m also really excited to be meeting from BBC Radio Bristol & Somerset next week to pre-record an interview at the BBC Radio Gloucestershire studios. We’ll be chatting about all things recovery, the journey of building Quiet Cove and what it’s really like balancing growing a business alongside being a mum. I’m really looking forward to meeting Claire, sharing my story and hopefully encouraging others who are thinking about taking the leap to follow something they’re passionate about.
Here’s to staying curious, never standing still and always learning ♥️

Everyone wants to know if one massage will fix it.
I understand why.
When you’re in pain, missing runs, waking up stiff or feeling frustrated with your body, you just want someone to tell you there’s a quick answer.
Sometimes one treatment makes a huge difference.
Sometimes the pain eases straight away.
But what interests me even more is…
Why did your body need that pain in the first place?
What is it protecting?
What is it compensating for?
Why does it keep returning every few months?
Why does it flare after long runs but not short ones?
Why does one side always seem tighter than the other?
Those answers rarely appear in one appointment.
They come from curiosity.
From paying attention.
From the little messages between appointments:
“I slept better.”
“It flared after Tuesday’s run.”
“The exercises helped.”
“The pain has moved.”
Those conversations help us connect the dots. They help us stop chasing symptoms and start understanding your body.
They help me understand how your body responds so I can tailor your treatment plan - whether that’s focusing on different muscles during your next massage, adapting your recovery exercises, suggesting stretching or mobility work or introducing other recovery tools that are right for you, not just your symptoms.
That, to me, is where lasting change happens.
This is the Quiet Cove way.
Less “see you in a few weeks.”
More “drop me a message and tell me what’s changed.”
Less quiet.
More curiosity.
More communication.
Because the best recovery doesn’t happen to you.
It happens with you. ♥️

🏃♀️ You can have the perfect marathon training plan… but if your body can’t cope with the miles, you’ll struggle to reach the start line.
Here are a few things most runners don’t know… 👇
👖 Your TFL (roughly where your front pockets are) can contribute to pain around the outside of your knee when it becomes short or overactive.
🦵 Tight hamstrings can shorten your stride and make other muscles work harder.
🦴 Shin splints aren’t always a shin problem. Tight calves, restricted ankles or weak hips can all play a part.
💪 Shoulder tension can reduce your arm swing, making your running less efficient over longer distances.
🍑 Underactive glutes often leave your calves, hamstrings and lower back working overtime.
⚖️ The painful area isn’t always the problem. Your body compensates incredibly well, which is why it’s important to assess movement and not just treat pain.
🏅 If you’ve got a marathon in your sights next year, don’t wait until you’re injured.
The biggest mistake I see runners make is waiting until something goes wrong before seeking treatment.
Preventative sports massage can help:
🏃 Catch problems before they become injuries.
💪 Move more freely and run more efficiently.
⚡ Recover quicker so you’re ready for your next session.
🦵 Reduce unnecessary strain on your muscles and joints.
🏅 Stay on track with your marathon plan instead of sitting on the sidelines.
Because let’s be honest… the best marathon training plan is the one you can actually stick to.
Your body will be under more stress than ever over the coming months. Looking after it now gives you the best chance of reaching that start line feeling strong and crossing the finish line feeling proud.
📩 If you’ve got a marathon, half marathon or your first 10K on the calendar, let’s build a recovery plan that’s as individual as your training.
Recover Smarter. Train Harder. 🌿🏃♀️
Your body gets you through everything. Give something back. Please stop waiting until body says ‘enough is enough’ and you’re in pain.

A new chapter begins… 🏉🙌
Passing my Level 3 Sports Massage qualification was an incredible moment but for me, it was never the end goal. It’s just the start.
One of my biggest values at Quiet Cove is continuing to learn, develop and become the best therapist I can be. That’s why I’m so excited to share that I’ve been given an amazing opportunity to work alongside a local rugby team with a great medical team that I can learn new skills from and share knowledge with.
It’s a completely different environment to the clinic here and I can’t wait to challenge myself in a fast paced pitchside setting, supporting players through injuries, recovery and game day care.
As part of this opportunity, I’ll also be completing my Emergency First Aid in Sport and Sports Taping & Strapping qualifications, giving me even more skills to bring back into Quiet Cove and better support my clients.
I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to see where this journey takes me. Every course, every experience and every challenge helps me become a better therapist for the people who trust me with their recovery.
Thank you to everyone who’s supported me so far - whether you’ve booked a treatment, recommended me, followed along here or simply cheered me on. It genuinely means the world ♥️
Here’s to never standing still and always striving to learn 🤓

Stop fighting against tight muscles. 🙅♀️
What if the thing holding you back isn’t running more… but how well your body moves? 👀
Tight muscles = shorter stride.
Better movement = better stride.
Better stride = more efficient running.
Sometimes the answer isn’t more miles…
It’s better movement. 🏃
