At River Kwai Thai Spa in Gloucester we have always striven to provide the best Thai massage experience at the best price. For the past two years we have kept our prices at the same level in spite of significant rising costs, being conscious that our customers also have greater demands on their money.
Because of these increasing costs and the need to pay the therapists a decent wage we have had a long, hard think and have come to the point where there is no option but to increase our prices from 2nd February. Price rises have been kept to a minimum in order to minimize the impact on our customers' pockets.
To see all our latest prices please see the price list on our website at https://www.riverkwaithaispa.com/
We hope you all understand the need to increase our prices and we look forward to welcoming all our customers, both old and new, throughout 2026.
And don't forget your loyalty card to get regular customer discounts. We also offer a bulk purchase voucher with up to 10% discount when pre-paying for 10 treatments

So come and banish the Winter Blues. Following a massage session cortisol levels are decreased (the nasty hormone responsible for stress!), and oxytocin levels are raised (the happy, contentment hormone). Massage also releases serotonin and endorphins, relieving stress and making you feel better. Regular massages enhance your overall state of well-being – banishing those winter blues!
And remember In this cold weather it is important to keep your blood flowing and your muscles relaxed to help you stay warm and mobile.

Remember that massage is particularly beneficial in winter in promoting the immune system, stimulating circulation and improving general physical and mental wellbeing. So don't delay, call to book or walk in to get your massage and a touch of Thai warmth at River Kwai Thai Spa, 95 Northgate Street, GL1 2AA.
Why massage is so important in the winter!
Massage in not just for the summer and here are various reasons why you should have a massage in the winter months, which include:
• Reduces dry skin: With the lower humidity and cold winds, winter is the time many experience dry skin which can be uncomfortable and unattractive. Regular massage promotes your skin’s production of collagen, increasing its moisture and elasticity, in addition to the massage oils that help to keep your skin soft, supple, and hydrated.
• Improves circulation: Cold weather tends to slow down blood circulation, with your body focusing on keeping your vital organs supplied with blood. This results in increased blood pressure and reduced oxygen around the body. Regular massage enhances blood flow and body warmth, increasing the flow of oxygen around the body.
• Boosts the immune system: Massage helps stimulate the lymph nodes, part of the lymphatic system, part of your immune system which protects your body from foreign invaders such as bacteria and viruses. The lymph nodes help the white blood cells fight off infections which are more prevalent in the winter.
• Improves mental health: Winter can be a very depressing time with dark and cold days. Massage stimulates the endocrine system where hormones are created. This results in decreased cortisol levels (a stress-related hormone) and increased levels of dopamine, serotonin and endorphins (the happy hormones), which relieve stress and enhance your mood.
• Maintains fitness: Many people are less active during the winter months and develop aches and pains in their muscles and joints. Whilst having a massage is not the same as going to the gym, a massage stretches your muscles and helps to keep your joints working properly. So it is a great way to relieve those aches and pains and give you energy to make it through to the spring.
So, now that that winter has truly set in you can still experience the warmth and peacefulness and all the winter benefits of a tropical Thai massage at River Kwai Thai Spa in Gloucester. Call us on 01452 424110 or 07487 604241 to make your booking.
