Day 2 - testimonial from a sceptic- wait until day 3!!!

Day 2. I will admit that the balance between excitement and dread is less evenly spread this morning - but it’s a Saturday and I plan to be active and not think about what I am doing, and it’s only 36 hours or so until I get to eat a proper meal.
Knowledge is a fine thing, and I don’t go for a six mile run and I don’t arrange to play golf. I also don’t get to go for a curry and three pints of Kingfisher.

And as I go to bed I notice that I actually feel really good.

Tip of the day:

I've found a great way to make porridge more exciting! Stir in half a scoop of the Vanilla Forever Lite Ultra shake powder into a saucepan as you're mixing the porridge oats - this not only sweetens the taste so that you don't need to add sugar, but also gets 25% of your RDA vitamins and minerals well. Delicious!"

A view from a Sceptic.

One of my clients has just finished
the Clean 9, here's how it went......

Days 1 and 2
Breakfast - two pills, Aloe Vera drink and water
Snack- two different pills from bees
Lunch - two pills, Aloe Vera drink and water and a milk shake, two more bee pills
Dinner - two pills, Aloe Vera drink, two bee pills
Evening - more Aloe Vera drink

Why do it in the first place?

The obvious benefit to taking on something like this is the weight loss - I keep pretty fit by going regularly to a gym, but as 50 approaches (alarmingly quickly) I find it increasingly hard to maintain a weight I am happy with. So the promise of half a stone or more in nine days is appealing.

Also, being a bit of a long term sceptic about all things ‘alternative’, I was keen to give it a fair try.

Day 1 dawned with mixed feelings of excitement and dread - and a soon to be regretted six mile run in the gym. The first two days of the detox involve cleansing, no food and wise advice to only gently exercise. The Aloe Vera drink tastes like some type of hospital surface cleaner from which the only relief you get is water and a couple of bee pollen pills. Lunch comes quickly - and you get a milk shake. Which tastes quite good, is pleasantly enjoyable and surprisingly filling - add a couple of bee pollen pills and it feels like fine dining.

My second regrettable act of the day is to follow lunch with a four and half hour round of golf in the warm sunshine, on the hilliest course in Surrey! The sense of being full might last quite well if you sit in a comfortable chair and browse through food magazines, but by the 18th hole supported by a single bottle of water, I was ready to eat the flag, clubs and fattier bits of the three guys who made up our four ball.

Home to more hospital floor cleaner and whatever bees don’t seem to need anymore compressed into a disappointing and very small pill.
It is about now you realise that your family spend their entire lives eating. Seemingly endless processions into to kitchen to fill up plates and bowls become the backdrop to your day. But don’t worry, you can have 8 ounces of water before bed.

Bedtime at last. The odd thing is I do feel pretty good.

Day 2 to follow. Watch this space!!!!

The word "diet" is depressing to many. We think of giving up foods that are comforting and enjoyable.
But we can change the way we view what a diet is doing for us. A mindset change is required to recognise we are doing something POSITIVE in order to change our size, shape, lifestyle. We are gaining in so many ways and becoming fit and healthy.

Tip of the day
Size matters
As a general rule, with cheese and dairy have a portion that is no bigger than the size of a matchbox. With meat and fish your portion size should be the size of a pack of playing cards. And Carbohydrates such as brown rice, couscous, pasta, potatoes, grains and pulses should be the portion size of the playing cards and matchbox together. As for fruit and vegetables, this is the one time you can fill your plate!!!!!

Tip of the week:
Nearly 70% of your body is WATER, it plays a vital role in everything from regulating your body temperature to protecting vital organs. Water also transports oxygen to your cells, removes waste and protects your joints. Reduces headaches and clears your skin.

It is also an integral part in losing weight. It makes you feel fuller and flush out excess waste and prevents bloating.

Drink 2 and a half litres EVERY DAY!!!!
