As most of you know - Back in 2012, I opened my barbershop, GENES, and named it after my 6-month-old son, Gene.

He’s now finishing year 10 at school and this week, he’s just completed his first week of work experience in the shop.

It’s hard to put into words how surreal that feels. The little boy the shop was named after is now old enough to stand beside me, learn the trade, and tell me he wants to work here one day.

Time really does fly. I’m incredibly proud of the young man he’s becoming, and having him in the shop this week has been something I’ll never forget. Have a swipe to see some of the early days. 🥺
