‘Russian lashes’ are NOT thick stiff shiny lashes that are clumped together!!!

So many clients come to me saying I want full lashes but I don’t like those ‘Russian Lashes’

As beauty professionals it’s your job to educate yourself so you can educate your clients!!!

Russian lashes are handmade fans that are tailored to your clients natural lashes, the should look full they should look dark and they should absolutely be fluffy!!! They shouldn’t look heavy, shiny, clumped, and stiff!

If you’re using premade volume lashes, be honest with your client.

Russian volume is a handmade technique - NOT a style!

I’m not a one size fits all lash tech!!

No two eyes are the same, so it would make sense that no two lash sets would be the same!

Even as your own natural lashes shed, the style of your lash set will change.

Let’s talk RUSSIAN LASHES

Many people come to me and state they want full lashes but not Russian lashes because they don’t like the overly stiff lash look. You would be surprised to learn that those styles are not actually Russian lashes, they are simply volume lashes, this is because Russian lashes arn’t actually a style- it’s a technique within the volume style of lash extensions.

Russian lashes are supposed to be fluffy, wispy, light not heavy and stiff - if you require the the condensed stiff looking volume then you would be asking your lash technician for Mega volume lashes not Russian lashes.(this style really requires you to have very healthy natural lashes to start with)

The technique that learnt to create Russian volume lashes can take years to master, all lash fans are made by hand which means every single extensions is individually made for each individual natural lash, taking in to account the health, length , width of your natural lash.
This makes Russian lashes one of the most diverse set of lash extensions you can choose - no set will ever look the same even at your fill appointment as your natural lashes will be in a different growth state each time.

LETS TALK TIMINGS!

There is so much pressure to be fast, get people in and out without hindering their day! When I first started lashing I was so worried about my timings I was worried people wouldn’t come back because I just took so long to complete a lash set. The truth of it though was that people didn’t care, the clients that came to me came because they knew I was isolating every single lash, they came to me because I was looking after their natural lashes, they came to me because ultimately they trusted I was delivering the luxury lash service they were paying for because let’s face it lash extensions are not cheap and it is a luxury service!

Stop worrying about how long you’re taking. Worry more about the service you deliver, are you protecting your clients natural lash health? are you protecting your clients eyes? Are you isolating individual lashes? Are you checking sets to make sure lash extensions aren’t stuck together? Are you offering a safe space to your clients?

Timings come down the more practice you do, a full set of handmade Russian volume lashes takes me 2-2.5 hours (sometimes 3 if my conditions aren’t right such as temperature) classics take around 1.5 hours ..

when I started out classics took me 3.5 hours per set!!!!

Classic lashes!!! The most underrated lash set EVER!!! Getting classic lashes right is an art and it’s not easy and fast it takes time and patience to learn how to get the perfect classic set, it takes time to build the muscle memory. When learning to lash this must be the first technique you absolutely nail before moving on to more difficult techniques such as Russian volume - classic lashes are the building block to amazing retention whilst taking the upmost care of your clients natural lashes!!!

My absolute favourite style and mapping to do when I have volume client is Fluffy wispy Volume!!! Keeping the lash line dark but the lashes light and fluffy!! Mixing wide bases with slim bases, every single fan handmade for the natural lash it will wrap around!

Please please please make sure you're are booking in at least two fills it's becoming extremely hard to fit people in last minute.

My evening appointments are pretty much full a couple of weeks ahead so be prepared if you need a particular day and time.

GUYS please please come in with clean lashes, you pay so much for your lashes it's a luxury service, the amount of people coming in lately - who know better😅 because I educate each and every one of My clients about lash retention and make up.

It's that time of year where it can be blustery and our eyes can water - salt erodes the adhesive, oils from make up and creams erode the adhesive , then let's not even think about dead skin cells, sweat, and daily grime from our environment ..it's like leaving a bike out in the rain, the rain rusts and erodes the metal frame .

Keeping your lashes clean is Paramount to good retention + being on my favourite client list ☺️

Your volume lashes should always be fluffy if your fans are often closing or feel heavy this is because you have a build up of oil and your lashes need washing!!!

Lash shampoo is your friend it lasts a long time and is £12 it will save you money in the long run as your lashes will last longer xx

Why I ALWAYS make my own Russian volume fans and NEVER use premade.!

The Only way to guarantee the health of the natural lash is to make sure your volume isn't too heavy, by making my own Russian volume fans I can Tailor each fluffy fan to a specific natural lash. Not all natural lashes are equal in size, thickness, health etc so this way I can make sure I don't put any unnecessary pressure on your lashes, keeping your natural lashes healthy and happy underneath, allowing each individual lash fan to grow out and fall off with your natural lash at the end of its cycle 💕

Russian volume lashes Wrap around the natural lash making retention much better where as premade volume lashes sit on top of the natural lash ..much like a classic lash extensions, this makes it extremely delicate, and unable to withstand day to day activities.

Lastly handmade russian volume is a skill, it takes years and years to master, it's not just lashing..it's science. Maths and art!

If you can't work out the diameter of the natural lash to work out how many individual lash extensions you need to make a Russian fan that can be healthy for the natural lash.... You should be diving in to CPD and learning how you can better your skills so you can be the lash tech that offers lash extensions in a healthy way!

Did you know, that I spent two years heavily researching different Lash manufacturers....the big factories not the companies that buy lashes in and add your label...the big factories that produce lashes to your specification!

I've had my own brand of lashes for around 6-7 years now ...and it's still the same factory that makes them ....if it's not broken don't fix it... I never had my own lashes manufactured to sell them, it was about providing my clients with consistent results, using the best quality products to protect the lash health, using the best quality synthetic material to get that soft fluffy dark line we are all here for!
