Having high standards is part and parcel of the deen. Our Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) was created the most beautiful of Allah’s creation. And He said "Allah is beautiful and he loves beauty"
As Muslims, we have our own identity and it is far more beautiful than any other. Present day identities have largely been manufactured by the fashion industry and then promoted by multi-million dollar marketing campaigns across society. The fashion industry works very hard in making nudity appear superior to modesty despite the detrimental effects of this on society. It uses sophisticated techniques to encourage the adoption of styles according to its dictates and we see the effects of this everywhere. In doing so, it redefines beauty as nudity and in wearing less. The fact of the matter is, real beauty lies in modesty not nudity. Modesty is superior to nudity. As Muslims, we are uniquely placed to challenge this phenomenon that dehumanizes the woman and turns her into an object.
